how did BM do against concordia?

on the weekend Barbe went 4-0

Crowley TX- 8-0
Zachary- 6-4
Dutchtown- 12-2
Brenham Tx- 1-0

Jordin Griffin has a couple homeruns this week, Littleton is back in the field, not sure if he is pitching yet, but him and alexander both had homeruns this weekend.

ASH won their 4. As they should have. Host the Red River event this week. Have Central, North Desoto, Capt Shreve, and Jesuit coming in. A bunch of other smaller schools too. Hosts are us, Tioga, and Pineville.

One of our best arms is out looks like, so that hurts. A step up from early season so I look forward to seeing how we compete

Yeah looks like it’s changed now. WM plays Live Oak in game 4 this weekend.

Beat Concordia 7-4. They went 5-0 on the week. Beat Teurlings, Brenham TX, Crowley TX, Sulphur, and Concordia. I think that puts them at 9-1 on the season.

I do find it quite humorous that all those kids from WBLL leave and they seem to be better

That’s a damn good week for them for sure.

They were studs at 12 but just solid in HS? I honestly lost track of them.

One of the players was committed to LSU but battled injuries. Think he is in JUCO. Several others signed with JUCOs and DII schools. Solid high school careers but none were really stars or big time prospects except the one I mentioned earlier.

I still have to see this new group against consistently better competition to believe they'll be as good or better than that group was. BM returned 3-4 really good position players and 2-3 good pitchers. They play a ton of kids all year, including really young kids, so even the "new" kids have experience coming into each season.

I know all of the BM kids from that team are playing in college. Darrah went to Arizona St, Wiltz went to UNO, Prather went to Loyola, and Rousell went to Centenary. Louque from Lutcher was coming to LSU but got injured and went to Eunice for now. Andrade from HC went to UNO, Ryder Planchard from HC is at Eunice.

I don't know about the rest as far as college goes but they were all pretty solid high school players. Spadoni at Rummel, Shorts at De La Salle, Delatte at Jesuit, and Jeff Curtis.

no they were really good in HS, just for some reason BM had trouble being consistent through those years. Most went on to play college ball of some kind which means they were top 5-7% of all players so not like they were not really good. just inconsistent.

But ill be honest, traditionally, BM doesnt have the best track record of development. I have never seen their program, just going off of what i have seen.

From what I heard Koa is going to be catcher for now on & used as a closer in pitching role. Hahnville started off 4-0 & has lost 5 straight mostly do to bad errors and only getting hitting from Guarisco, Romero, and Teague. They have some young talent that needs to start producing on varsity level but hasn’t happened yet. Destrehan is similarly built but has gotten a lot of production from their young guys. Long season so we will see if they can turn it around. Be a shame to waste those 3 in the lineup bc they can really hit

I saw on Prep Baseball Louisiana Heat Sheet where Holton registered 97.

He wasn't on the last list, so I'm guessing he started pitching only recently.

He threw a hard fastball but it was flat and he couldn't locate anything offspeed.
this has been an issue for him off and on thru our times playing against him. But Uhigh has been impressive swinging it is what I was told.

He threw 78 on Monday against Dutchtown after throwing 114 on prior Monday against Rummel. After the 78 against Dutchtown on Monday, he threw 54 against uhigh this past Saturday before he was taken out and put at catcher.

I wouldn't say BM was inconsistent over the stretch that the LL kids were there, or really maybe the last 15 years. They have plenty of district ships in that 15 year or so span, some quarters and semis, and a state runner up. The 4-5 years with the LL kids was plenty consistent, but couldn't get all the way over the hump similar to the 2012-2015ish span. Overall, I don't disagree with development but they've had some pretty good kids come out of there. I'll probably miss some but just at LSU were McMullen, Kevin Berry, Deichmann, Tre Morgan, and you have kids like Keegan Gillies (Tulane) and Stuprich (SLU) that have done well after BM. I think Darrah will be a good college player and Navarro has a shot. They have a few kids there with some good potential (McClusky, Leaumont, Shannon, Tingstrom just to name some of the here and now guys and not the other underclass kids popping their cherry).

The 10 year or span after the 1996 state championship was horrific but they've been a force mostly ever since and will be. They just haven't gotten over the hump. Almost to a fault, they play a big rotation of kids to make sure they always have some experience after graduation.
