Agreed

Of course I’m throwing stones in a glass house

If he did get a nut shot, my judgment would be clouded too!

It has been pretty comical on Facebook with posts......Had one person argue that maybe the pitcher should stop picking off....wtf.

Great year for both team is being missed in all of this.

It is as simple as that..."coach, I see yall are going in on the inside corner, that is fine, but if your guys keep making contact I am going to call the next one out....we clear?" And it all goes away.

Let em play isnt a philosophy in baseball, one passed ball because a 1B gets a forearm to the chest and the game can be changed. Forget the sportsmanship piece...are we just going to let R2s run into shortstops in the act of fielding next? This just seems really basic.

yep

i actually have no problem with what the Dtown kid did. He took up for himself when the umpire wouldnt and he took a chance maybe it would fire up his team that was getting close to being beat.

but i cant stand the whining from dtown parents and fans on social media, especially the douche bag the runs prep scoreboard. Totally uncalled for with the way they have attacked the kids at both barbe and sh. Completely uncalled for. and there arent many times that I can say that the SH fans are being the classier of the two.

if the prep scoreboard guy post here....he should know he is a complete and utter frick stick

Great year for both teams for sure.

I think Dutchtown did SH a huge favor beating Barbe. Barbe won all 3 matchups this year with SH, and while I think the SH roster is just as talented as Barbe's, I think SH beating Barbe is more mental for them. I think they would have had a hard time beating Barbe in a best of 3 for that reason, but that is why they play the games. SH took care of business when Barbe could not.

I don’t have dog in the fight. And if it had happened all game as described, someone has to do something. The SH runner was scared to death once ol boy got going.

Yes, all fans are getting worse by the day. If whatever happens is ruled legal I don’t care one bit, so until changes are made you just have to deal with it if you are going to play the game. Personally I’d love to see a lot change ti simmer things down a bit, noisemakers, dugout shite, constant screaming at umpires. I can see emotions get rolling in the championships, but this will all bleed down to games with no real significance as everyone wants to get in on the act.

I hope that Christ kid gets some offers he’s a senior and uncommitted. He played his tail off all season and had a great championship series, offensively and defensively.

That is kinda the issue. The first baseman had his right foot on the corner and left foot four feet towards home plate. The base runners right knee as he was coming back to the bag was two feet towards the home plate which hit first baseman in the nuts. Ill put it this way, if a baserunner slides two feet outside the baseline going into second on a DP, he would be called out. Sorry for confusion but tried to post pic and could not do it

first base gave him the whole outside of the bag. now its good coaching to have them go back to front corner to try and produce an error but I dont blame the 1st baseman for getting annoyed with the constant slamming into him when it was uncalled for

It was just a hard line stance by LHSAA, following the rule as it was written. I think there was a memo sent out to all schools though concerning fights earlier in the year (not sure if they do that for baseball also) , but Z really did nothing here except for the one kid, coaches kept all their players on the bench. Other team had students come from behind their bench as well as other kids in the basketball program rush the court fighting. Going to be interesting to see if LHSAA even acknowledges it. SH won and deserves the title. (and would still claim it anyway even if something strange happened)

Honestly as an umpire or referee - I rarely hear fans you have to tune them out(i no longer umpire, but right before covid a dad was talking about whipping my arse after the game and one of his teams dads informed him that "fing we him would be a life changing experience ) He was no where after game. You can't be a good official and listen to fans - but threats - nah.....

noisemakers need to go - especially whistles and bullhorns

I think it was two fight season over... basketball it was rampant that year there has been some muddying what is actually consider a fight now as well.

Preventative officiating can't stop it if a kid or kids are hell bent on swinging .

Is there differentiation between one on one kids fighting and a brawl involving three or more people?
