Catholic was up 11-3 in 10 innings I believe. Lot of errors from SH from what I heard. Catholic looked solid , bats were the typical with this time of year for both

TC had a bunch of errors too and bats sucked for both teams. Barbe didn’t pitch Littleton or the freshman Zaylon and TC only let their guys go two innings. Barbe only let Alexander extend as he hasn’t pitched since soph year and is coming off TJ

The third baseman for TC was terrible in the field. Had couple errors and the first baseman bailed him out a couple times. Fielded great, it was throws, looked almost like he was hurt and might have been, I dunno

You could tell it was two very high level teams though. But TC had errors, Barbe let pitchers work through even after walking 4 in a row etc.

Could tell it was a scrimmage for both teams. TC coach was pissed over base running errors, they were really bad at it. Got picked off like 5 times in first 6 innings, got back picked on a missed bunt and all kinds of base running errors. I’m sure he will get it cleaned up, he was coaching them hard on it.

That's how it ended. 7 errors by Dunham with 17+ players seeing action on the box score for Dunham. 9 errors the scrimmage before, so improvement.

So Prep Baseball will be finished up their Louisiana Power 25 list.

With TC being released as the #3 team, it means Sam Houston and Barbe will be 1 & 2 and I assume the defending champs and current big dog on the block will be #1.

I know the scrimmage against Catholic didnt go the way SH wanted, but with all that young talent they have....they are going to be a big big problem come playoff time

LINK

also PG released their Preseason national top 50 with Catholic coming in at #28 and Barbe at #24.
LINK

maxpreps has Catholic at 22, TC at 23 in their preseason poll
LINK

should be a great season overall, I expect the usual suspects to be running full strength come playoffs and it will be a fun season for sure.

For those of you who pay attention to future classes, Catholic sent out their 8th grade acceptance letters yesterday for the class of 2031. That class is exceptional in the BR area and some of the top kids in the area posted that they are headed to catholic starting next year for 8th grade. So the rich get richer.

Has this turned into the Barbe, SH, West Monroe, and Catholic BR mega-thread yet?

I know you guys have seen some of these 2031 kids, but be careful thinking Baton Rouge is loaded in 2031. Every year people think the young class they see is loaded. If you around high school baseball you will know that the Freshman class coming in is always supposed to be one of the best classes the school has had. Everyone falls trap to that. Now we are saying it about 8th grade classes.

But one thing is correct , Catholic is going to get the majority of good players in BR. That will always be true. the 27 class is the only one in last few years that wasn't the best in the area. But even that class some good players.

I hear what you are saying, but if you are involved at the 10-14 level than you know that is not the case. the current freshman and 8th grade classes are weak overall in the BR area. Specific school might have a good class if they all went to one, but the 2031 class overall across the 3 parish area is very very strong and very deep.

its not like that everywhere in the state, but overall that 2031 class is much much deeper than the 2030 and 2029 classes especially with a couple players not holding back.

Are most of these 2031 kids part of the Pelicans organization?

pelicans, rays, nationals, and saints. some of them used to be on traction before this year when that team broke apart. The class overall is very very deep.

Watched Dutchtown last night against Rummel. Dutchtown won 11-5. They have 8 returners/srs starters. Pitching looked really good and swung it well.

Johnson 1 IP 3ks no hits 87-90
Tunnard 2 IP 4ks no hits 85-88
Akers 1 IP 2k's
Fontenot 1IP 2k's

They are going to be a sleeper as no one seems to be talking about them.

Men's conference at my church listening to Darryl Strawberry.

West Monroe and Ruston both play actual games Monday. WM plays Airline, not sure about Ruston. Anyway, due to this I'm not sure who either will play Saturday in their jamboree against one another. Some sort of scrimmage tonight at Tech with these two facing off as well.
