The Fox pre-race presentation was pretty good.
They need to get some better stars though. Never heard of the band that said drivers start your engines.

I didn’t realize until yesterday that Tony K is the team principal for Arrow-McLaren.

I think he was named team principal in just the last week. It's very new.

I like Will Buxton as a play-by-play guy

The usual suspects up front. Dixon still has it.
The recently hyped as potential future F1 drivers, O'Ward and Herta, nowhere to be seen.
The best candidate for F1 might be Palou, but he doesn't have any connections.

Alex Palou is a good driver and seems like a decent person but I am not a fan. Cant quite put my finger on the reason why, he’s almost boring. Has 3 championships and only 12 race wins.

Gamassi is best on the road and streets. Penske will dominate the ovals. Looks like an interesting year, especially with FOX.

Alex is very Dixon-like as a relentless points scorer with minimal drama. Dixon is boring too! Except when he pulls wins out of his arse out of nowhere.
Back in the ancient past, some F1 drivers would win championships with just three or four wins on the season. I much prefer for the wins to be distributed among numerous drivers with a very tense, competitive championship, which is what we get with IndyCar. If all of the 2025 F1 season can resemble the 2nd half of 2024, it's gonna be amazing.

Palou is basically the 2nd coming of Dixon.
I’m not a huge fan but he is arguably one of the top 5 drivers in the world
I think he could Verstappen , lando and leclerc a run for their money in a competitive f1 seat
He has nuked his bridge into F1 so we might as well enjoy him and see how good he can be in Indycar

Keke Rosberg won an F1 title with one win.

Fox did a good job on their first IndyCar race. Having several veteran reporters in the booth and pits helped. Their new graphics like the heads up display were okay. Maybe not world changing, but interesting in short doses.
I was half expecting that if Newgarden got to Palou, they would tangle and hand the win to Dixon. That would’ve been so Dixon.

The Fox Broadcast was lightyears ahead of NBC... Outside of commercials, its the best broadcast package in racing IMO...the drone shots were sick too

Mclaughlin gets the championship

I was thinking the same thing. I want to see the ratings.

So did Herta’s fuel man simply not fill up the car on his second stop ? WTF?

If tweet fails to load, click here. He just pitted when his low fuel light came on. Hard to believe he salavaged a second place finish under those circumstances.

Also, zero help from his spotter. Impressive.

Anything less than 1.3M viewers will be a disappointment imo
Indycar needs to figure out how to get 1.3-2m viewers for all non Indy 500 races
