If tweet fails to load, click here. I’ll forgive all the 2nd driver mismanagement if this does happen

That's literally just the racing bulls livery

Would be funny if Racing Bulls went blue this race

Three teams in white. Great...

I found this WaPo article from a couple of months ago about the karting scene in Europe. It's a gift link, so you'll be able to read it. Unfortunately though, they make you enter an e-mail address. I think originally you were able to read gift links without giving them anything.
The First Step to F1
quote:
But the sport is now unrecognizable. The surge in global interest in Formula One has transformed karting into a kind of oligarchy. It is now crowded with the sons and daughters of multimillionaires (and actual oligarchs) who crisscross Europe every weekend for mini-Grand Prix. The circuit is a traveling carnival for the global elite, a series of racetrack parking lots colonized by parents in luxury athleisure wear.
quote:
F1 teams have wrestled with the concentration of wealth among their recruiting pool. “Are we scouting the biggest talent or are we just scouting the kids who are able to afford to do karting?” Gwen Lagrue, the driver development adviser for Mercedes-AMG Petronas’ Formula One team, asked in an interview. Lagrue said Mercedes was scouring the karting tour for 12-year-old drivers whose success wasn’t just a product of their limitless resources. But as the sport’s barriers to entry rose, finding them was getting complicated.

I'd bet that quote it out of context... I doubt Max is unhappy about having Yuki, who will most likely be able to protect and support him better than Liam coming in...
I bet he is unhappy the team fricked up and didn't sign Sainz and then gave him the shittiest teammate for the first two races, going through all the motions only to swap him out.

He's unhappy because he feels, correctly, that canning Lawson after two races was not fair to Liam.

In 1978 a kid from Jackson Mississippi won the Karting world championships. Beating Ayrton Senna.
( he wasn’t really a kid)

Bernie Collins feels the Red Bull is the tenth fastest car if not for Max.
LINK
quote:
“If Max leaves or doesn’t show up at a race, they are currently the 10th fastest team. And I was criticised last year for saying, when Checo [Sergio Perez] was there that if Max didn’t turn up for a race, they were the fourth fastest team, but at the minute, they’re 10th fastest.
“Your championship position for constructors is based on both cars. That’s how your employees are paid their bonus.
“It will start to become very detrimental within that team that people are looking at being fourth or fifth or wherever they end up in the Constructors’ if they cannot get that second seat working.”

Already seeing max’s release clause will activate if RBR is further back on the grid at summer break. With the engine uncertainty next year , he really needs to go to Merc or just take the money from stroll.

Alright Helmut. Let's work on getting one car in the front first.

A week ago we would've have thought that it was impossible for the grid to get any more interesting...

Does Lawson being completely unable to drive the Red Bull make anyone feel a little better about this?
Maybe he’s not as washed as he seemed over the last season and a half? Is the car really that difficult?

Probably in between him being washed and a new constructor wanting a guaranteed sponsorship piece in place early. And he'll come with a huge fanbase to start as well.

It really is I think. Instead of designing a drivable car that both drivers could do top 5 in, they designed it very explicitly to Verstappen's unique driving style that's damned near no one else can figure out. Now it's so customized away from anything relatively normal they can't figure out what's fricking it up for Verstappen.

Pretty sure caddy builds a lot of cars in Mexico so it makes sense to go get that money. But I think he’s washed.
