Despite the popularity of Oscar on this board, he still has yet to prove that he's on Lando's level.
I think he’s about a tenth away in qualifying from beating Lando consistently.
If Lando continues to have problems with his standing starts the qualifying gap won’t matter much.

I'm an Oscar fan, but Lando's standing starts have improved.
They're about as close as they can be, but Lando seems to eek it out more often. Hard to argue with success.
Fingers crossed for Oscar to have a light bulb moment.
And if you doubt my expertise, just check out the contest results MFers!!!

Speaking of top tier shite-stirrers, Eddie Jordan passed away today.

Hate to hear that. He was one of the great F1 characters. Loud, brash, energetic, fun, and loved F1 as much as anyone could. It's a sad day.

Just saw that in my newsfeed. Didn’t know he even had cancer.

Loved the 7 Up car. Another great looking green car from that era was the Lotus 102D.
I've only been to one F1 race, but I got to hear those glorious V10s and saw the Buzzin Hornets, which were aptly named because of those engines.
Yeah I was bummed when Jordan sold his team. They were the scrappy team that you always rooted for.

Which race was that?

The 2000 USGP. It was the first race at the new Indy road course, and the first time F1 had been back to the US in like eight years. So I got to see guys like Schumacher, Hakkinen, Barrichello, and Coulthard battle it out. I just looked it up. Heinz-Harald Frentzen in a Jordan got on the podium, I had completely forgotten about that!! I remember how insane those cars sounded in the canyon along the front straight revving at 19K. They sounded like permanent hearing damage.

OK TDF1 Championship guys, FP1 for the Chinese GP is at 10:30 pm CT tonight. Make sure you save your updated prediction lists before then!
Reminders:
Your predictions are only for the Sunday Grand Prix races. Sprint races are ignored for the TDF1 Championship.
If you don't save a new prediction list, you are still OK, as your currently saved prediction list will be used for all future races until you update your list.
Sadly, there are still four guys who have not saved any prediction list. You will be DNS if you don't save a list by this evening.

It appears you locked it early...just tried to save a minor change and it wouldn't let me.
Edit - never mind, I misread your post above...I thought you said it would lock at 10:30.

In case you see this, I have unlocked it for a few more minutes. No one is going to learn anything in the first few minutes of practice.
But in general I don't want people waiting until the last second.
Edit: OK it's been five minutes. Sorry, I locked it again. Please don't wait until the last second before first practice.
FYI, I locked it at the top of the hour, so you missed it by two minutes.

Saw alpine admitted they needed to adjust their rear wing to meet the new technical directive.

I just noticed this odd message in MultiViewer. The padding material in their helmets must be pink?
Do they have color-coded padding materials of different characteristics for slower and faster circuits?
Edit: I found the answer! Despite the helmet graphic, it's not about the helmet padding, it's about the cockpit padding material around the head. There are three materials and what they use depends on the temperature! There's always something new to learn!
