Norris has the aura around him of David Coulthard and Mark Webber. He is always going to win some races but he is never going to put it together all in one year to win a championship. He feels like one of those drivers that are on the wrong side of the breaks in the most important moments. The Vettels, Hamptons, Verstoppans, and Schumachers in Norris's position after lap one go out and win this race, or at the absolute least get a podium. At his best he is runner up material for a championship. You have him as a number two driver you can win constructors championships but you are going to have to have a ridiculously superior car to everyone else to win a driver's championship if he is your number one driver. He just doesn't have "it".

Damn that's harsh.

Would love to see Max storm back this season and win. Kudos to Carlos for getting Williams back on the podium and props to Yuki for holding off Lando.

My reverse jinx worked and Williams is on the podium! A legit podium, too. No random good luck. No rain/farce of a race. A pure podium.
And icing on the cake? Sainz getting a podium in a Williams before Hamilton in a Ferrari.

I don’t know who will win the WDC, but I think everyone knows that Max is the best driver on the grid.
At what point does Alonso start to tarnish his legacy?

The McLaren boys are choking with a 100-point lead, now that red bull and Max are put added pressure along with the pressure for each other, it could get nasty.

Christian Horner is probably rolling in his grave.
Of course Lando doesn’t capitalize the one and only time Oscar has a brain fart. WTF was his problem this weekend?
Good for Sainz.
Max is such a beast.
Good for Lawson too.
Russell solid as always.
Ferarri…

Highlight of year so far, for me. And LOL at the papaya boys.

That’s a spicy meatball.

F1 inflation. I remember when F1 titles could be won with 55 points.

Maybe it was just the moment, but Sainz indicated that getting a podium in a Williams was a better feeling than winning races in a Ferrari. HIs attitude may be influenced by getting dumped by Ferrari.
But I also feel that Max, despite being frustrated that he can't compete for the WDC this year, is getting more satisfaction from winning individual races in a car that's clearly not the best car on the grid overall. I wonder how much Red Bull firing Horner mid-year and replacing him with Mekies is contributing to this late-season form. Mekies is getting credit for improving communication and the whole process of race preparation.

With some luck Max could pull this off
Max - Lando - Oscar from here on out gives Max the WDC by 1 point.
Lando - Oscar wreck each other out? Full game on.

BTW, how about Williams and Albon? What an improvement.

All right, the TD F1 Championship results are in!
Because of the very unusual results of the race, the TD F1 results are pretty crazy themselves.
dg42.net/TDF1/race-results.php?race=17
The winner of the TD F1 Azerbaijan Grand Prix is NfamousPanda with his first win and second podium of the season! NfamousPanda hasn't updated his prediction list since June, and it finally paid off!
The podium is filled out by kengel2 in P2 for his first podium, and WAY2GOLSU in P3 for his third podium.
Here's the championship table: dg42.net/TDF1/index.php?table=full
sorantable was out of the points again in the race, and his lead over P2 has shrunk again, from 18 points to 10 points.
pitstop with a P6 race finish is eating into sorantable's lead and making it a tight championship race.
Otherwise, there wasn't much movement at the top of the championship table, as most of the scoring for this race came from players lower on the table.

He has not yet been mathematically eliminated.

I'm pretty sure that's fake. He didn't say that.
