Watched it last night...
Smooooooooth operator!!!
Hell yea, what a weekend for Carlos. For arguably the first time this year Williams got the strategy right with Carlos and it pays off.
You'd be hard pressed to make an argument after these past two weeks that Max still isn't the best driver out there.

Holy crap, didn't even realize that. I guess I was thinking he got one earlier in the season but I forgot that was the sprint race.
Sauber with a sneaky impressive improvement this year. I can see some teams trying to steal Bortelletto.

So, sounds like he'd be available around next year's summer break.

If tweet fails to load, click here. 2005 is kinda skewed because of the Indianapolis race that year. Only 6 cars ran the race and 4 of them were not usually front runners. 4 outta the 6 that finished were at least one lap down.
Colapinto and Doohan are the only drivers this year to not finish in the top 6, so far.
7 outta 10 teams have a podium this year

I don't recall in recent memory seeing a driver crash in qualifying and the GP in the same weekend, let alone the championship leader.
I'd be curious to know the last time it happened.

Stroll probably has 3 times in the past year but I’m not going to verify that, just feels right

Now this would be interesting, not sure if there is any truth to it
“ As soon as Christian Horner finally left the Red Bull Group, the rumor mill was bubbling: According to the Daily Mail, he could soon join the Haas team - and not only as team boss.”

I thought everyone agreed that both Haas and more recently Red Bull improved when they put engineers in the team principal position. Haas might be better off leaving Komatsu as team principal and just have Horner as CEO. It would create a situation similar to McLaren, where the CEO overshadows the team principal. Komatsu would probably prefer that.

This is a very misunderstood thing.
There is a slight increase to adjust for inflation, but the main point of this change is to bring several expenditures that were previously excluded from the cap and allocated in a different way, back into the main cap. This is not some big increase, as it may first appear on the surface.
Now it includes:
- sprint race costs are included (previously they were within a different allocation)
- UK Research & Development credits are now not permissible as reductions to expenditures for UK based teams, only “true costs” are counted, not the government deductions (as it should be)
- full race calendar expenses are now included in the cap, where races over the 21st Grand Prix under the previous cap received a special allocation (the full calendar is now all within the cap)
- wage equalization considerations (to account for cost of labor differences between the UK, Italy, Germany, and Switzerland)
So before you think it’s a big boon to the teams, this allocation is already basically pre-spent.

Good to know.

I wonder which team this will hurt/help the most.
The wage equalization is interesting. Seems like a way to loophole especially if you can offshore certain aspects.
215MM is starting to work back to the old cost numbers.

I wonder if Max will make a Nurburgring run in a F1 car.
