During the races, F1 has many driver wives/girlfriends shots and sometimes keep it glued on them for extended time. Yet we can’t have grid girls.

Remember when the NFL promoted those "Big Hits!" videos, before they cracked down on big hits?

Sounds like he dominated with his de-tuned rookie car in race 1

And Carlos Sainz Dutch GP penalty was reversed. No more points for it.

I'm not saying this just because I'm a Williams homer, but its good for the sport that it was reversed. It's one of those instances where, yeah, by the "rules" it was on Sainz, but in reality the track layout of that corner and specifics of the incident doesn't really fit with the intent of the rule.

I agree about the Sainz penalty, hard to go racing in these tanks if they are gonna give out penalties for that.

So still just six. I wouldn't mind expanding to eight. But that would be about the max I think. I know some people are pushing for more, but it's still a gimmick. I don't want it to be normalized as a regular part of an F1 weekend.

I am not sure if F1 is already doing this, rotate the spirits among the tracks and keep the sprints to 6-8 races a season

I still have a passionate hate for Miami even existing on the F1 schedule... give me Spa or give me death
Anybody else miss Hockenheim? What an absolutely lovely track!!! But no, we get a parking lot around a football stadium as their newest, latest and greatest creation... frick THAT!!!!

i was dreading miami but while it isn't my favorite track, it does seem to be a very good venue all around in terms of track quality and fan experience.

Sprint races are stupid if they don't effect the big race. They should determine starting order of the race. Otherwise get rid of it, or have a true double header.

I always wondered why it wasn't that way. Current setup just makes it feel like a half hearted attempt to give fans more to watch on a saturday.

I get it, the sprint is just an excuse to run a "race" on Saturday that just gives the fast qualifiers more points to separate themselves from the mid-field runners.
Conceptually I like the idea of the sprint affecting the main race grid, but the problem is if a front-running car gets in an accident during the sprint, especially if the accident is not his fault, and he ends up starting the main race from the back. The faster teams would hate this scenario. But if the sprints were limited to just a few race weekends like they are now, it does seem like an interesting way to shake things up a bit.

Been a lot of talk about the sprint races this week by the media and everyone around the paddock. Talk of using a reverse grid in 2027 which all the drivers hate.
Like Piastri said “it works well in F3 and F2 because you are trying to show that you belong in F1 so starting in the back and moving up through the field helps. In F1 the only thing that matters is winning.”
I like the sprints, more entertaining than FP-3.
Talk of George Russell potentially missing this weekends race. If he does Bottas will serve his 5 place penalty and drive the car. I know Cadillac is hoping he can serve that penalty and get it out of the way.

My main problem with the sprint is that it just gives more points to the fastest one-lap cars, because there isn't much passing in a short sprint race.
Granted, there are some fun surprises, like when Danny Ric had a surprise P4 qualy in the Miami sprint and I think he finished there as well, or Hamilton's sprint win in China, which turned out to be a fluke.
Like my arguments about Monaco, I think the sprints would be waaaay more fun and interesting if they drove a spec car, like my proposed Monaco small no-downforce spec car. It would be a true driver's race and we could have some perhaps unexpected drivers competing for wins.

Wow, George is sick but expected to be fit to drive by FP1.
The predictions will be locked out tonight. Will anyone bet on Bottas driving instead of George?
Edit: While there is unlikely to be any official news updates later today, there may be some rumors flying around. I will set the lock out time to be 8:00 pm CT. And so there isn't any sense of possible impropriety, I will finalize my own list in a few minutes. It would look bad if a strong rumor comes out this evening that Bottas will drive, and I end up being the only one to update my list before the lock-out time.
