Him retiring came out of nowhere.

what? were you watching him? When the match started you could tell he was at like 80%, and as it went on that number just kept going down.

I had bet on him to win the tourney. When it was 4-4 i cashed it out since they were giving me .50 cents on the dollar, and then put a bet on Zverev to win the match, which for some reason was only -110 at that time.

I thought it was very obvious watching the match that he was likely not going to finish the match.

find it interesting that novak got more hate and vitriol for retiring from the match due to injury than sinner has gotten for failing 2 drug tests

some people just don't like him for any given reason

Many (most) tennis fans in US and western Europe are limousine liberals

Man I can’t believe the Aussie crowd (at least some of it) booed Novak after he retired from the match. I understand the disappointment, but damn, he’s won the tournament 10 times. I don’t think he deserved that.

I had a feeling that he was going to have trouble with this match. Zverev can play a very physical style with some long rallies — was clear that was part of the game plan early on. A few years ago it would not have been much of a problem for Djoker but I think, especially in the heat, he’s just got a little less in the tank now (even when he is healthy). Will be interesting to see what happens from here — I could see him retiring at the end of the season if he feels like he can’t compete at the same level anymore. Sad to see the end of the big 3.

Shocking to see Djokovic retire like that. Disgraceful behavior from the fans to boo. Zverev was a class act in the post match interview.

Sinner / Zverev should be epic...

I hate it for the fans , but what was Novak supposed to do??? Keep playing and risk further injury???? I can assure you you if he could have continued to play he would have.

I just wish he would have crapped out a round earlier. He had to pull out of the quarters at the French, too, and no match was played. But, I understand, you just try to win and hope you’re better in a couple of days.

The first 6 games were the best I've ever seen from Keys.

She certainly has fallen off a good bit since then, but Sabalenka is also playing much better. Still giving Keys plenty of chances though. Hopefully Keys can stay focused.

Yeah, Keys was absolutely playing out of her mind. She was hitting everything. Sabs is playing a lot better for sure, but Keys couldn't seem to hit inbounds in the 2nd set.
