Burton takes another playoff spot, so it’ll be interesting to see how the points look.

Butter face. He's a winner now so she'll be kicked to the curb

He ain't looking at the mantle when he's stoking the fire.

Damn Jeff made it all the way down

I understand Bubba’s frustration, and can appreciate that he takes blame upon himself, but he could handle post-race interviews so much better.

He beats himself up too much

Jeff Burton is my favorite driver, and I quit paying a lot of attention to NASCAR after he retired.
Got to admit, I was screaming for the kid that last lap. Just like old times.

Last year Burton wouldn’t be in the playoffs. He was dead last in full time driver points coming into tonight.
SVG had the perfect description in January for drafting tracks.
Half chess and half lottery.
Cars will always flip. The bumpiness of the pavement on the apron got Berry’s back tires up. That was it. Keeping cars on the ground is a near impossible task. Not saying quit trying… but they will always find ways to flip.

If tweet fails to load, click here. The 62 car (Beard Motorsports) is affiliated with RCR. Retzlaff was in 4th, so had he not taken the top when they chose lanes he would have gone back to the third row because Bell in 3rd took the bottom.

Can I say Leigh Diffey is light years ahead of Rick Allen. That call of the last lap and him saying “Jeff your baby boy has done” was magical

That will probably be the end of the affiliation with RCR but you gotta do what’s best for you.

Was the race really last night and I missed it?
Edit: just watched the replay and I'm a bit bummed. Jeff was the second Ford Driver I ever pulled for (Mark Martin was the 1st) and the 21 can is everyone's sentimental favorite. Hate that I missed it live.
On the flip side, I watched this one live way back when....

My various comments:
There should only be ten teams in the playoffs. This 16 is so watered down it gets into horrible teams making it in. The recent weeks of total carnage are all related to this farce. Last night a driver got in who could never race his way in all season long. Its a fluke that teams can go all in on plate races to luck their way in. They sit in back most of race and wait for wrecks to feast off a clean car. Thats not racing its pure luck. Imagine a 3-14 NFL team making playoffs due to some flukey rules. Thats what this is.
Bubba is just a horrible person. He is always angry. He can’t drive, always hovers around the cutoff at 16 or so in a sport there are only maybe 20 viable teams. If you put Algier in his car he’d do much better as would just about anyone. His teammate proves the cars are great. History shows Bubba is not.
Clown car. 3 rollovers in one race plus last week.
Race and TV. What a disaster. It was big wreck after big wreck. The plate racing is dangerous qnd going to kill someone again. Larson took out a lot of cars last night to be honest.
And holy cow TV is cluttered with so much garbage and can’t even show details. That sidebar showing positions has now turned into an infomercial most of the time. The whole screen is cluttered as well. Feels like a site you might visit with spam popups.
After big wreck one they never showed all cars involved. Along with left tracker it was impossible to know status of cars involved. And the Toyota no commercials scam. This allowed them to stay at commercial because they had a really small window showing wrecks so they stayed at commercial for minutes and never came back full screen like they normally do.
I did love the new play by play guy. About the only good thing. It was hard to hear Jimmy J when they cut to his questions.
And Rowdy was very tame afterwards. Resnef or whatever his name was messed up. I understand why he took the outer lane row 2, no issues with that. But once they got going he had options to help Bush and never did. Pushing Rowdy to a win (or helping by not pushing 21) would have been great for his resume. If a team ever wanted him they would want to know he’s a team player and he proved that he’s not. This is not to take away from Burton, congrats to him and Wood Brothers.
Just a boring race filled with carnage that took out all the good cars.
And another point on Kes penalty. They never looked at both thongs they should have. One being leader spinning tires. And 2 the car behind Kes pushing Kes where Kes can’t slow down to allow leader back in front.
Anyways, they need to fix plate races. Have smaller width tires means you have to slow down in corners. More HP to allow passing down straights. Or at least a push to lass technology.
And lastly, since they won’t fix plate races they need to implement brake lights on plate tracks. Will allow cars behind to see braking ahead.

I agree the playoffs are too watered down, Bubba is always angry, and how the cars need changes to make plate racing more exciting (I’ve always said more HP but like the tire idea), but disagree on the quality of the race. You never knew what was coming next. The Indy car announcer was incredible and set the tone for a very exciting night. Much better than a fuel mileage race.
