Penske has always been able to go to 4 teams. Why else hasn't he?

The #21 is a Penske car in all but name. Built at the same shop and everything

Roger has the means to operate a fourth full time team in house if he wants to. He’d rather farm out an alliance than put a 4th car in his name on the track. Likely for business reasons.

I'm telling you he literally is with the 21. It's literally built in house at Penske with the other three teams. It's all the same with the exception of the wood brothers name

I know im late to this but I don't know if even the average Finebaum caller from 15 years ago is dumber than the average Sirius/XM NASCAR caller

As an aside, I heard Angie claim this morning she used to wear low-cut shirts around the garage on Daytona inspection day until she got "older and chunkier". Then she'd just bake cookies to bring.

Today is Daytona 500 media day and I was listening to Sirius/XM on my way to work as they were interviewing various drivers. They had Ryan Preece on and he was talking about how little the teams can actually change or adjust on the cars these days. There’s not much imagination or ingenuity, the cars are all very similar other than the differences in the engines between the teams.

He also discussed how much he wishes they could test more. He said that since 2016, he has only done 3-4 test sessions across all 3 national series. He believes it would really benefit young drivers, himself included.

Quick question:

Do the Nascar fans on here hate the people that started watching because of Full Speed like F1 posters do with people that started watching because of Drive to Survive?

Asking for a friend.

I don’t. I would say to those people that they missed the best era of NASCAR, and that what they’re seeing today is fun but not NASCAR at its very best.

I welcome new fans, though, and I hope they enjoy it. NASCAR is a much tougher and more interesting sport than what many non-NASCAR fans give it credit for.

No.

The sport desperately needs new fans and eyes and this is a way to do it.

Part of the fun of going to races is the crowd. I think 95% of fans will embrace people who got into it because of the show as long as those new fans don't ruin the fan experience at races or try to change things about the sport.

I started slowly watching Nascar and Indycar after getting into F1 (not due to DTS, but due to having a newborn and finding a live sport to watch at 7am on a Sunday), and while F1 is very cool and has some awesome personalities, I love the competitiveness, unpredictability, and actual racing of the two American series.

Daytona 500 qualifying coming up at 7:00 PM CST on FS1.

I’d like to see Kyle Busch or Brad Keselowski win the Daytona 500 this year. Both guys are deserving of it.

Reddick and Bowman cars going through tech for a third time. They need to pass this time to be able to post a qualifying lap. Crew member ejected and lose pit stall for duel. I need to confirm but believe crew members allowed to come back for Friday.

UPDATE: Both cars made it through tech on the third time.

Forgot that David Ragan is running a third car for RFK Racing in the Daytona 500 (assuming he does make the show).

Agreed. Truex, too. We've had a little run of surprise winners the last few years, so it'd be nice to see one of those former champions finally get to victory lane.

There are 4 open spots for the Daytona 500. 6 cars competing for those spots. The fastest 2 open cars in qualifying tonight will be locked into the Daytona 500. The other 4 will race for the final 2 spots in the Duels tomorrow night.

Maybe Grala’s issue could’ve been discovered before qualifying if they could practice.
