I miss that guy, saw him do a backflip in person at Kentucky Speedway after a win. Believe it was 04 or 05.

Because obviously what Kyle did wasn't as egregious as what Hill did.
Had Hill simply put Custer in the wall, he likely would've avoided a penalty. But as I already pointed out, he didn't.
Whine about inconsistent punishments all you want, NASCAR got this one right. Hell, according to most fan comments online, Hill got off light by not being suspended this weekend.

Newgarden probably has a better shot to successfully do the double than Larson.
Outside of Larson , Newgarden is in a different universe of talent compared to Bubbw Wallace , or Noah Gragson or Denny Hamlin or the rest of the cab drivers lmao

If true then they got the other 2 wrong. I hope you can now see my point. Thats all I ever said, inconsistency is their rule. Never said any one was correct rather that all 3 are different for same infractions.
Thats the problem with Nascar. If you pick a driver to cheer then see other drivers do same things and get different penalties, then that fan is going to hate following Nascar. New fans won’t hang around as long.
So now you have 3 same incidents and 3 different penalties.

How do you define success?
I think Larson has the better chance. Nascar has just one 20 minute practice. And if not mistaken Larson missed it due to Indy. That means Newgarden would have zero pre race laps if did double. Larson has w weeks to practice with his Indycar.
I think Newgarden would be fun to watch in Nascar. And think he’s a great racer. But it would be harder for any Indy car driver to do the double than for any Nascar to do so.
The only thing that stopped Larson was weather. And Nascar calling race too early.

Also working against Newgarden is the fact that he wouldn't get a lot of practice time in a Cup car as opposed to Larson in an open-wheel car getting quite a bit of practice time.
Also the fact that Cup cars are quite a bit heavier than Indy cars.
Penske also doesn't like his drivers pulling or attempting to pull the double.

Newgarden, McLaughlin, and maybe Will Power would be good in a Cup car. Colton Herta would be fun to watch too.
Scotty Mac will be in the Cup series in the next 5-6 years.

Bummed to see Smoke leaving the sport. One of the few left to tell the brass at NASCAR how the cow eats cabbage.

How I would answer this Steeler is that 1. The Captain hasn't signed Newgarden yet for 2025, so maybe that would be a bargaining chip; and 2. In the past when the Captain has been against this, he didn't own and wasn't operating a racing series that's in need of the spotlight/publicity/attention/goodwill.

Smoke is in his 50s, he and his wife want to start a family, he's enjoying the hell out of drag racing, he's got enough money to where he'd never have to get out of bed again if he didn't want to, he doesn't need the headaches of NASCAR.

Both fair points.

Of course my internet went out on the last lap and came back on when the broadcast was ending.

That 4 wheel drift around the track was sick.

In contrast to Logano’s comments on the Larson waiver:

It’s also ridiculous how long it’s taking NASCAR to make a decision regarding whether or not Larson will get a waiver. It’s a simple “Yes or No” question. I’m sure they’re trying to drum up drama, though.
