Its going to be interesting. Hamilton seems to be on the plateau or downside of it at this point and Sainz is continuing to grow. No doubt, for their pocketbooks, Ferrari made the right decision, but don't think their chances of a constructors or drivers is any greater with the Hamilton move.
Hamilton still finished best of the non-RBs last year.
I think this will be a bad season because I doubt the motivation is there for him this season, but I’m not convinced he’s washed up yet.

just finished...it is actually great to see Haas looking competent.
And as a Danny fan, it is getting harder and harder to see him making it past the next couple races...
And Sauber....wtf....poor Bottas has some of the most strange and terrible pit stops.
And Alpine .... you should call Otmar back even if he does not speak french

Russell always finds a way to make it interesting in the end.

Didn't say he wash washed up, ala Danny Ric, but think he's peaked and is def on the downtrend of his career.
Don't think he's a better driver than Sainz for Ferrari

Haas making Gunther looking like a fricking wanker this season

Just finished the race, LFG Carlos. Hell yea, that was awesome.
Still haven’t really showed a replay of Russell’s wreck for some reason.
I’m laughing at these Gunther interviews, the drivers can barely understand what he’s saying

Max explained the issue. The break to the right rear never shut off completely after the red lights went out. So it was getting warmer and warmer until it basically melted and caught fire.

Last lap on the last 2 as well.

Absolutely hilarious radio of Charles Leclerc x Ferrari engineer after Russell's crash:
"It that the last lap?"
"Yes, we got the fastest lap..."
"No, no, IS THAT THE LAST LAP & is Russell OK?"
"I will come back to you... ... Yes he is OK!"

@alo_oficial
Double points for the team and a better race pace than the rest of the weekend allowed us to cross the finish line in 6th and 7th place. A bit surprised by a penalty at the end of the race regarding how we should approach the corners or how we should drive the race cars. At no point do we want to do anything wrong at these speeds. I believe that without gravel on that corner, on any other corner in the world we will never be even investigated. In F1, with over 20 years of experience, with epic duels like Imola 2005/2006/ Brazil 2023, changing racing lines, sacrificing entry speed to have good exits from corners is part of the art of motorsport. We never drive at 100% every race lap and every corner, we save fuel, tires, brakes, so being responsible for not making every lap the same is a bit surprising. We have to accept it and think about Japan, to have more pace and fight for positions further up the field. Thank you, team!

Rear view, Russ just overdrives the corner and they punished Alonso for some dumb reason.

He's such an arrogant loser. I understand his DTS cult status, but I can't stand that they give him a platform on race day. He cheapens everything he's in involved in.

Shut the frick up wanker

Alonso was trying to be cheeky and it backfired on him. I lean more towards Alonso being dangerous than Russell overdriving. A 20 second penalty? Eh, not sure i agree with that. Maybe a black and white flag.

I agree, this is more on Alonso. For me, the damning part is the fact that he got back on the throttle before the apex because he realized he was going way too slow. George lost it because he ended up too close to Alonso mid-corner and lost downforce on his front wing. He wasn't overdriving it.
There's no right answer on a penalty, opinions evolve over time. Stop-and-go penalties used to be more common.
