Marko is a big proponent of genetic superiority.

I think I remember reading somewhere that a bunch of people in New Zealand had pooled their money to support Liam and now that he has made it they will get a percentage of any winnings he might earn. I’m not sure if that applies to his salary or not.
I'm trying to find the article because I remember something similar. I remember at the time thinking "man that sounds like an awful deal for Lawson." Like they made a investment but it was like if he was successful he was going to be paying back waaaaaay more than was invested. Like some company going on shark tank and giving away 75% of their business.

Lawson has set up a company where private investors will be paid back what they’ve put in, plus some. Similar to the band of business people who helped launch the career of Indy Car champion Scott Dixon.
Mind blowing numbers and backers behind Liam Lawson

Nice. I'm waiting on the giant teknik kits coming out in March of the 2024 cars.

I put this one together back in the spring. It was a fun build. Finished project is 2’ long and 10” wide. Not the 2024 model but it’s $40 cheaper from Target right now than it was from Lego when I got it.

OK, beating a dead horse here, but the coddling of this dude is unbelievable...
RB: Whole Team at Fault Over Failing to Get Ricciardo to Click

And yet somehow the corollary to this is not worth mentioning. Mekies is saying that they failed to tune the apparently finicky VCARB consistently enough to allow Danny to get consistently fast results. The corollary should be that Yuki must have done an amazing job of wrangling this finicky beast, as he scored consistently in the first half of the season while the car was still competitive. And yet no one at Red Bull is saying that Yuki did an amazing job because that would just raise more questions about why he wasn't promoted.
So the Red Bull narrative around Yuki is that he did an adequate-to-good job in the VCARB, but didn't show the promise of future growth that Liam supposedly showed. But somehow Danny only scoring half of Yuki's total (22-12) is VCARB's fault because they didn't give him the car he needed to perform. I can't roll my eyes any harder at these dueling narratives.

But despite having benefited from a full off-season to prepare for 2024, the veteran Australian still found it hard to find consistent performance in the VCARB 01. Ricciardo showed flashes of his old self at times, including with a stellar sprint race in Miami with fourth place, but was generally outperformed by Yuki Tsunoda at the team.
Reflecting on why things didn't work out with Ricciardo, RB team boss Mekies has said the team is collectively taking responsibility for not being able to give the 35-year-old a car he could build momentum in.
"The question we have been asked the most was: 'Can Daniel still produce the ultimate speed we have seen?' I think he has on a few occasions, in Miami, in Canada [fifth place in qualifying] and in quite a few other races. So, he did produce that ultimate speed that took him to race wins in the past. But for the team, as for the drivers, the biggest difficulty is not to be fast one day. It's to be fast in every race. Did we manage to keep Daniel in that sweet spot often enough? No, that's the reality. I raised my hand and we raised our hands as a team, because we have a big part to play in it. And this led to what happened.

Danny lost his desire to achieve. That's all. If you cannot keep your passion afire, how can anyone expect greatness? It happens to the best of people.

Indeed.
Since there isn't one yet, I'll post it here. Rolex is out as F1 official time keeper and Tag Hueur is now the official branding partner. $1.5B deal over 10 years.
Does not affect Tag's existing partnership with Red Bull or Monaco.
