PSA, get to your local Costco… they have a RB19 Remote Control Car for $50 bucks.

Yeah, I bought one and it’s boat loads of fun to do donuts in the living room and chase the dog.

It’s 1/10 scale, so about the size of the large Lego technic F1 cars.

Horner seems to have really screwed up a good thing at RB. It will be very interesting to see what Aston can do in the coming years. Daddie Stroll has put a ton of money and people into that team.

Its like everyone conspired to take down RB. When Merc was winning for 4-5 years straight that was ok because of kneeler Hamilton. When RB has a few year run they destroy it since Max is a non kneeler.

I kid I kid, just having fun but it is amazing how fast RB was taken down. I think it all started in Monaco 2023.

I don’t really blame him for screwing anything up. They all get talent poached and it seems set up to not be sustainable to be the best team forever now with cost caps and everything else.

A lot of people didn't think it was okay. There was just nothing that could be done at the time. Merc had an awesome car, great drivers, and a virtually unlimited budget.

Cost caps, wind tunnel times, and CFD Tflop restrictions starting in 2022 were a direct result of Mercs dominance. The new regs have meant that a dominant team early on in a regulation era will not be as dominant as long as the used to be. If you nail a regulations set out of the gate, then you're going to be hurting by the third year, which is what we're seeing.

I went to the event in Houston. The sound of the V8 was even better than expected live. It was a great time.

I was there too baw! The F1 cars were not even the loudest things there. That damn rotory P1 was loud AF! Good thing I brought hearing protection, the people by me were in pain. I got a real close look at the Toro Rosso as they were warming up the engine, it was bad arse!

Fify

That’s awesome though. I need to get a good listen of the good old N/A days.

I wasn’t sad by the cars in person in 18 and 23 but I’m sure they used to be insane.

Haha yes that P1 was nasty. Sounded like the devils chainsaw. That electric truck tripped me out doing donuts. Almost completely silent with rubber squeaking.

Getting back to lando/oscar. As I see it seems like Oscar has no reason to help lando win the DC, right? Why would he want to do anything that would cement Lando as the next huge star of f1 and the #1 at McLaren? Oscar can’t possibly want Lando to win anything other than constructors. Seems like it would seriously impede him if lando did win DC.
Feels like fat man would have to lay serious ultimatums down and I don’t think he can

Just a thought

I thought Newey’s comment today about Stroll being the only hands on owner in F1, or something of that nature, was interesting. The horny spice stuff didn’t help, but I think the decline, turmoil, brain drain, etc. has more to do with Dietrich passing than anything else. Seems like the talent doesn’t care for the decision makers that have taken his place.

The power struggle at Red Bull is company wide right now. All the executives are trying to build a power base of their people. Jas never liked he couldn’t control Horner so he became a player in the current battles along with Helmut.

How Helmut has t been fired is insane though after it came out he amended Max’s driver contract to benefit himself over red bull and never told anyone.

As to the hands on owner aspect… most of the teams roll up to car manufacturers, and each manufacturer has their own corporate shite. Renault right now is a complete disaster of a company and it’s playing out into their team.

I think it’s pretty rare you have just a single main individual who can truly act as an owner

I saw that as well and thought it was very interesting. Sounds like he immediately missed what Red Bull used to be under Dietrich and found that same management structure in Aston Martin. I'm curious if Newey will question Daddy Stroll on Lance's position in the team. I just don't see how they can seriously chase a world championship with Lance as a driver.

Haas also has to answer to sponsors too much because their owner can’t afford to own the team
