the engine parameters in F1 are regulated as well
There is a ton of engine development and an arms race in Indycar as evidenced by the numerous blown engines and plenum fires both chevy and honda experienced this past month

yup- every fan post 2020 is a fan of a reality show and not a real fan of motorsport
Largely agree and wish they would go away, especially most of the celebrities (mumble rappers, random singers, etc that became "fans" in the last 24 months).
Also, I like Leclerc fine enough, but the meat riding has been unreal. You won pole and held off in the parade, congrats, but that was not some inspired, amazing drive / Senna type work.

I hope I get an extra point for becoming an F1 fan before watching DTS. I started watching during the 2021 season because my baby had me up early on Sunday mornings and it was a live sporting event to watch. I quickly became obsessed with it, and found DTS a while afterwards.

Indycar has 2 engine manufacturers- not a spec series

I understand your sentiments, but the new fans are good for the sport, no matter what. New fans equals new money, which fuels any industry. Fans die and move on, new ones are needed to keep it going. Nascar or WNBA would love this type of influx.
On Leclerc, he qualified best and did what was needed to take the checkered. He did the hard stuff Saturday, and won on Sunday. He deserves this weekend's glory.

WEC which makes F1 look like a spec series by comparison doesn't have a constructors title- what's your point?

Canada is an exciting circuit. In 2023, we saw a surprise 7th place finish by Alex Albon in the Williams (IIRC they had some upgrades the week before). Valteri Bottas in the Alfa Romeo also finished in the points in 10th place.
Esteban Ocon has had some success in the Great North, finishing in the points in both 2022 and 2023 (as well as 2017). However, there are rumors he may be suspended for this weekend's race by his own team.

Alpine should ban Ocon for a couple of races to take his ego down a few notches. He has a horrible attitude on and off the track.

He just looks and acts like a smug douche with a punchable face.

WEC doesn’t have Manufacturers Championships anymore?

Someone better call Toyota and tell them that SkiUTAH420 has voided their 2023 championship.
WEC does have BoP and EoT to try and level the playing field, but manufacturers are still pretty free to build what they want within the rules. It's fun watching a diesel go up against a petrol hybrid.

Finally got to watch quali and the race last night. Happy for LeClerc.
Monaco is awesome for qualifying obviously, and the grid walk with Brundle is always one of the best of the year. A highlight was when he went up to one of the Jonas Brothers and openly admits to him to not knowing which brother he was
Not sure I'll even watch the race next year outside of the first few and final laps. Sounds bad but to me that race is the lowlight of the sport. It's hard to take that race serious when even the drivers think it's a joke. What an incredibly boring race. Even with it being someone other than Max out and a massive collision, it was probably the most boring race I've ever watched. They'll never stop racing there but I know I'd love for them to replace it with another race/track where actual racing happens. Not that that it anything new, but just typing some frustration out.
K Mag needs to hang it up or be fired, one of the two. Dude just doesn't have it and could end up getting someone killed. At least Logan Sargeant has the decency to just crash his self, Magnusson puts everyone in danger.
Happy Albon/Williams finally got on the board.
Sauber might be the worst race team I've ever seen. Holy smokes they are bad.

He was excellent in Bahrain holding up the field so Hulkenberg could finish in the points. Otherwise, he has been downright terrible the whole year, and at many times, dangerous.

Magnussen loves IndyCar and will happily go there when he gets pushed out the door. But he's been driving so badly this year that I wonder if IndyCar owners would be hesitant to take him on now. Of course, if he has a big financial backer he'll find a ride no problem.

hes probably a better fit for IMSA - was pretty underwhelming in his one Indycar start back in 2020

IIRC he was driving pretty dangerously in holding up the field there. Didn’t he end up with like 30 seconds in penalties for leaving the track to gain an advantage?

Ocon is my least favorite driver in the paddock, but Alpine suspending him at track he does decent at, only to put Mick Schumacher in the car seems like alpine needlessly shooting themselves in the foot. Don’t they have an option that has not already proven to be worse than Ocon? Give a Doohan his first shot and see what you have.
