if Papa Stroll is truly serious about making AM a contender, I could see them making an offer to Sainz to replace Lance. An Alonso/Sainz driver lineup with Newey would definitely be a contender.
One scenario I imagined was that Newey didn't have faith in RBPT producing a competitive power unit for 2026. He just had a fruitful collaboration with Honda, so I thought it was a pretty reasonable idea that he would be interested in Aston Martin. If AM gets rid of Lance, I would be in favor of Newey going to AM. If Newey goes to AM and in 2026 Lance is still with the team, I will be even more shocked than I would be that Honda would tolerate this situation. Honda plus Newey plus Aramco tolerating Lance on the team would make my head explode.

I'd love it but i don't see Ferrari letting that happen. Nor do i think HAAS has the money to pay him.
AM has the money, but he'll never win a constructors championship with lil' Stroll. So if he goes there i can only assume daddy would boot him for a real two car lineup.

I've been a healthy F1 fan for only 2 years, but I have quickly learned that the rumor mill in this sport is more absurd and rampant than anything I have ever seen before.

Looks like Nico and Haas are parting ways. He’ll be driving for Sauber next season. Not surprising, getting in that Audi seat early
