quote:The 1-2 in Brazil might have been the worst thing to happen to Merc. Gave them enough false confidence to give the concept another go this season, instead of going back to the drawing board.
i think they just missed the mark on the rule changes

If the rumors are true that Allison is back then I would expect to see a major shift by mid-summer break.
Elliot might have put all his eggs in the slimpod design and now will die with it.
To couple that with news that Ferrari Aero Chief had resigned and is headed to Mclaren.

Speaking of McLaren, it sounds like they are getting closer to doing an engine deal with Red Bull for the new regs in 2026.

Can't even imagine what hotels are going to cost that weekend. They were completely obscene for the Pac-12 title game this year because of the rodeo and that's probably 1/8 of the people that will be there for F1.

My parents have pretty good status at Caesars, usually able to get rooms or tickets to anything outside of a huge fight, and their host told them that they weren't even in the realm of being able to sniff tickets that weekend. That weekend is going to be like Monaco or the Super Bowl at least until the newness wears off.

I know it was posted in last years thread but isn’t the LV course non condusive to passing? I thought someone did a good track layout with aprox speeds and potential passing zones.

I'm curious if the LV race is going to eventually kill the Miami race.

LVCVA wants to buy $7 million worth of F1 Las Vegas Grand Prix tickets
The Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority (LVCVA) Board of Directors will be considering approving the purchase of up to $7 million of race and hospitality tickets for the November 2023 Formula 1 Las Vegas Grand Prix. This will be during the monthly March 14 board meeting.
Tickets for the race begin at $500 for standing-room-only general admission. Other price points for tickets are $1,500, $2,000, $8,000 and $10,000.
According to the LVCVA, the $7 million purchase will include $2.8 million worth of tickets that will “be resold to destination properties and other partners and community members for their use.”
The LVCVA said its request also includes $3.45 million “of race and hospitality tickets for our current and future customers.” In justifying this expense, the LVCVA said, this race “presents a one-time opportunity to bring the LVCVA’s and the destination’s largest current and potential customers to the city”
