I highly recommend anyone going to COTA watch them run through 4-9.

Do you think those folks would let me tie up a ‘93 bass tracker to their yacht?

F1 opened its season on par with last year averaging 1.3M for the Bahrain Grand Prix. FWIW, last year's season started a couple of weeks later.
Last year a 10:54A ET start averaged 1.353M viewers. This year it was a 9:52A ET start that averaged 1.318M.
Adam Stern:
@ESPN got 1.318 million for Sunday's F1 opener, down slightly from 1.353 million last year.

It's all over, the bubble burst, time to lower ticket prices.

Lol. Hey, they lost way less viewers than nascar did. So in that regard they gained.

That tends to be the response of first timers driving them as well.
The "braking forces" in an F1 car by letting off the gas is greater than those generated by your average sedan when slamming on the brakes.

Edit: I can’t imagine the little Asian lady in my subdivision who always slams on her brakes doing it in a F1 car, she might just fly out of it

Not that nuts when considering the energy recovery for the MGU-K.
Similar to how I can drive around town with one pedal in my Tesla, the regenerative braking creates a good amount of resistance (obviously far more forceful for an F1 car).

So three-day passes, even for grandstands, at the Spanish GP are just as cheap and in many cases cheaper than tickets for the race alone. Am I missing something here? I'm looking at purchasing through StubHub.
I might just purchase three-day passes. It's cheaper to get more. I don't get it.
For instance, not including StubHub's fees and other bullshite, I can get two tickets to Grandstand N for $400/ticket for a three-day pass. The same ticket is $752 for race-day only.
Seems fishy.

Not that fishy really, you get a ton of people that only care about attending the race only, so that's probably someone trying to fish for a sucker willing to pay more for a Sunday-only ticket. Once you sell off the Sunday ticket then Friday/Saturday are practically worthless. We skipped out Friday at COTA and I couldn't give my ticket away, meanwhile come Sunday morning similar race tickets were selling for double what we paid for the whole weekend pass.

While same grandstand are they the same row?
Higher rows can bring multiples of lower rows.

The F1 site only sells 3 day passes. People are trying to go to quali and make back all their money on the race ticket.

Enjoy! We enjoyed Barcelona and the reace despite the bus back shitshow. It was really fun to watch the race with people from so many countries.

I’m sure it will be a shitshow getting there and back. What do you recommend regarding that?

Charles has already taken 2/2 of each. If he takes any more, he’ll have to take a 10-place penalty (per component).
This is the most Ferrari thing i've read in a while.

Would the penalty be for a single race or is it cumulative, meaning, for example, if he comes in third in the overall points standings he would be dropped to 13th (if he only takes one of the components)?

These penalties are tallied before each race based on paperwork submitted by the teams and you move back that many places from your qualifying spot. There is a maximum of 20 places(in theory its more), so many teams try to strategically stack penalties for replacement parts because you can only start dead last at worst.

For this instance only he would get a 10 place grid penalty for the start of the race he took the new part. Meaning if he qualified 3rd, he would start the race 13th.
But this is F1 and it's never quite that simple. Teams start stacking penalties and it gets super convoluted. It shouldn't be that bad this early in the season but later the gamesmanship of it can be hard to follow and make little to no sense.
ETA this is also Ferrari, so expect whatever they do to absolutely make no sense.
