Those Q2 times are extremely tight. For such a technical track, I'm surprised.

Biggest Suzuka pole margin since Schumi in the all-conquering F2004. My hot take on RB being done after Singapore was spot on as usual

Max set a pole lap with I think all purple sectors... then he did another lap and went faster.

Like they said, getting on the throttle to race to the line will create under steer and I’ve definitely put it into the wall there but you have to be really aggressive on the throttle. He could have easily backed off the throttle but he didn’t. Feeling the pressure and pressing too much.

It almost feels like Max just took Singapore off and let others have a chance to win.

Strange all the teammate drama about who goes out first and gives a tow has all but disappeared the last couple years. Hulk got a "megatow" and still couldn't get it out of q1.

Great to see young Mr. Piastri on the front row. He is going to do very well, and he has a bright future in F1, like everyone thought.

Great move by McLaren to replace Ricciardo with Piastri. Paying off big time with a really competitive car

Piastri is making me believe he is the real deal.

Dude came in with a ton of pressure and has just performed.

Got a question for the experts in here.

Is the RB really as dominant of a car as everyone keeps saying. Perez didn’t have any glaring issues today and couldn’t outrun the Mclarens or Chuck.

Are we overstating the dominance of the car and understating how much of it is Max? Would he produce these results in a McLaren or a Ferrari?

Imo it's then combination of probably the strongest car and the best driver.

I don't think the car is that much better than what is out there. Otherwise checo would be way more consistent.

While you can make changes to the setup of a car, its typically built a certain way, specifically to develop more understeer or oversteer. Max likes a "pointy" car so it naturally has a lot of oversteer, Checo prefers more understeer.

Without a doubt. Not taking anything away from Max or RBR.

Perfect storm type situation.

its an incredible amount of recency bias. Mercedes won 8 straight constructor titles. Red Bulls current streak is 1. That being said the gap between max and the field is typical of the .5 merc had over the field during their run.

Is max that great or is checo a mediocre teammate? I think Norris in the RB would be much closer than checo is currently

Just watching qualifying, is Logan Sargent a one and done? Or does anyone think he gets another year?
