Suzuka is a classic circuit and fast. Always enjoy seeing the fans with their cool hats.

What ever happened to those devices that looked like miniature scaffolding on the outside of the side pods that teams used to employ during practice sessions to gather data?

I admit I am not adept at the technical aspects of the sport as most.

Perez tearing up the astroturf while sitting in tenth. 1.3 sec off his teammate.

Meanwhile Max is on top of the timing chart.

They still use them, but only when they're testing certain aero components and setups. You won't see them much at this point in the season.

Has he though? After 12 years in the sport, he's back at the redbull junior team.

Ricc gets a ton of shite for his career path, and while it didn't lead to him being a World Champion it did lead to him being filthy rich, so I don't blame him nor do I feel bad for him, and that's said as a Ricc fan.

Red Bull was rumored to be lowballing him on his contract for 2019+, I thought I'd read a while back they were offering him less than $10 million/year. Renault gave him something like $25 million/year. Then to McLaren where he got $17 million/year. So his career path netting him something like an additional $60 million in earnings. Yea I don't feel bad for him.

Lewis Hamilton doesn’t like Mercedes chances this weekend:

Lewis Hamilton has expressed his concerns after a difficult start to the weekend at Suzuka and admitted that he (has) no chance of winning the Japanese Grand Prix. The seven-time world champion was miles off the pace throughout the morning’s free practice sessions

High speed where drag kills. No surprise Merc won't make a run. Probably still end up top 5 because their race pace is usually pretty good.

RBR back where they were. What an anomaly Singapore was.

The new "gyroscope" camera is really cool. Not sure we will see it in a race, but it almost makes you feel the ride.

F1 put out a video

a lap ride along
