Vegas GP is going to the official jumping of the shark for F1 in America

Its apparent that F1 has already peaked domestically and the Redbull dominance has discouraged alot of the Formula Netflix fans

The vegas paddock/course construction is delayed and significantly over budget .

They may not even sell out- ticket sales are not great and idk if there will be not be a huge demand to spend $1000 minimum to watch Verstappen win in the first corner YoY.

Everything I have seen shows insane prices that simply do not seem sustainable. Liberty seems a bit over it's skis with assuming continued meteoric growth in the US as Miami had a lot of pushback on prices this year didn't it?

It sounds as if the paint may be wet on the paddock buildings when the circus shows up.

I met the president of Nurburgring a few years ago. I have his business card lying around somewhere.

I don't follow NASCAR but I just noticed an article that said ex-F1 drivers Kamui Kobayashi and Jenson Button will be in the Indy Road Course race tomorrow. I guess I'll be watching NASCAR tomorrow.

The article says they only had a 20 minute practice before qualifying. In his first NASCAR race Kobayashi was only able to complete five laps of practice before going straight to qualy. But he outqualified Button, who apparently has already had two NASCAR starts.

Once it gets too boring for the insta douches they’ll have a reality check. We’ll probably end up with just Austin. Which I’m fine with.

Really is a great track and event. There are always improvements, but between Montreal, Austin, and Mexico City I have no need for more North American races.

I do agree, once Miami and Vegas aren't fashion statements they promoters are going to have to bail.

Thanks
FYI, peruse that entire Sim Racing Setup the dude posted, that website is money for all things F1.

I use it for all my setups for each circuit, among other things.

A Kia is more fit for my abilities.

Suzukis are probably the more popular rental car choice on the ring.

Guenther Steiner has quite a dispute with Gene:

quote:

According to recent reports from BusinessF1 Magazine, central to the dispute is Steiner's claim from an alleged 2016 agreement, where he asserts, “I think it has to be my passion project. I started this team. I went out and found an investor.” Steiner believes he was promised a 50% stake in the F1 division, a claim that Gene Haas disputes.

www.si.com/fannation/racing/f1briefings/rumours/f1-rumour-haas-team-in-turmoil-with-ownership-disputes-lm22

For those unaware, Guenther lives in North Carolina where he has a company that makes racing products. He convinced Gene Haas to go F1 racing and had the knowledge to put it all together, so that helps to explain why he might feel entitled to significant equity, although making a handshake deal and not putting it in writing is a recipe for bitter disappointment.

The contract language should clear up that belief.

Love F1, Love Vegas, Would also love this to turn out as a financial disaster. Enough with the Netflix effect, lets get back to cheaper tickets, more actual race fans going to races.

Steiner is going to be disappointed and may be looking for a new job depending how hard he pushes this.

On the plus side, the last couple of weekends I've been able to get lots of work accomplished outside around the house before the days get too hot.
