There are maybe 3 seats truly available. And none seem a sure shot for Palou.
Unless Lawrence is fricking Palou's mom.
Bottas
Yuki
Haas driver
Would be suicide to choose Haas. Unless things change there.

the original rumor was Mclaren would loan Palou to Williams and have Sargeant go to the Indycar team.
Now it seems 1 of 2 things have happened
1. Palou and his mgmt went to Williams directly which means Sargeant is out of a ride and Indycar bound. I’m sure he can probably carve out a niche as a decent top 15 driver in Indycar… hes kind of like a poor mans Alex Rossi.
His childhood friend Kyle Kirkwood probably has the highest upside of any American driver under 25 (including Colton Herta)
2. It is confirmed DHL is leaving Andretti’s 28 car piloted by Grosjean.
The rumors were that DHL is going to a new team.
Chip Ganassi was reported to be very giddy with the latest Palou Mclaren drama and nothing would make him happier than sticking it to his nemesis Zak Brown.
Ganassi is also the rumored destination for the DHL sponsorship which is worth over $10M per year.
Since Palou apparently has a 7 or 8 figure buy out clause, DHL could have been brought in as the primary sponsor of the 10 car, which would fund Palou’s buy out from the Mclaren contract and keep him in Indycar for the forseeable future.
Either way imagine if Palou was a black kid from Miami and this was the NBA/NFL
If he does go to F1 I expect him to elevate Williams or Alpha Tauri(unlikely destination) to new heights and be a perennial WDC contender once he gets promoted to one of the big 3 teams.
He is arguably the best driver in the world not named Max Verstappen

Just looked and Bottas is confirmed for next year, Zhou isn't.
Williams taking Palou over Sargent would surprise me. Even though Sargent getting bounced wouldn't. Typical Williams though.

that seat will probably go to Theo Pourchaire who is currently leading F2 and is a Sauber Academy driver

all the hotels are already charging $1500+ a night over the 3 day weekend. now they want to block off restaurants and bars that dont pony up $1500 x Max Occupancy I suspect the hotels were always onboard with the 1500 a night rate from the inception of the event
Vegas GP is going to the official jumping of the shark for F1 in America
Its apparent that F1 has already peaked domestically and the Redbull dominance has discouraged alot of the Formula Netflix fans
The vegas paddock/course construction is delayed and significantly over budget .
They may not even sell out- ticket sales are not great and idk if there will be not be a huge demand to spend $1000 minimum to watch Verstappen win in the first corner YoY.

Yeah, Vegas didn't think about the season being over.
In other news. I bought some Spa 2024 tix. So 2024 Belgian GP meetup step 1.
Eau Rouge, not Raidillon corner.

Going to Europe is the play. Will not pay for a domestic F1 ticket unless they either go back to Indianapolis or go to Austin or Miami with a business associate who sponsors/ is friends with Alonso.

Doing Canada again just because we have made F1 friends there now and they are great to drink and bullshite with.
But going to cross the pond (le wet) for the first time to see a race.

Why is Yuki’s seat available and not Ricciardo?

I would think RIC seat is either RIC or Lawson.
Yuki seems to be the Honda relationship. Whether they continue that.

Nice!
Would love to see a race there. Austria too.

Awesome about Spa. Need to borrow some rain gear? I just returned from Norway where it was needed.

The debate was spending $100 more per ticket to get under cover.
I said it will be the first time in 30 years it doesn't rain in Spa if I chose to spend that money.

The Alps as a backdrop has to be insane.
Also checked and only about 2 hours to the Nurburgring. So maybe a trip around there in a rented Kia is in the cards.

Someone I know did Austria this past year and I was jealous. The place looked beautiful. Tickets didn’t seem terrible either. They got grandstand seats near the finish line complete with a pit walk pass and got to do a Q&A with Hulkenburg. Total was $1800/ticket. That seems decent to me.

You read my mind.

Cmon now. If you make it all the way to Nurburgring, you aren’t going around in a Kia. It’s gonna be a Porsche or equivalent

A Kia is more fit for my abilities.
I'm sure they offer some sort of rental thing there, but I would rather not die on this adventure.
