Put a barrier, if you exceed track limits, you hit it. Problem solved.

Nico gets a black and white flag for exceeding track limits despite being out of the race???
All four wheels were off the circuit when he retired I guess…

Just don't exceed the limits.
If you do, get a strike.
Not sure what is wrong with what happened today except FIA waiting until after the race to follow through on what data they were given during the race. MotoGP handles the situation with little problems.

Esteban Ocon now holds the record for most penalties in an F1 race

How many times did Verstappen exceed track limits?
Probably 0, dudes a robot.

What a shite show. I agree track limits should be kept but this is the absolute wrong way to enforce it.

The FIA has recommended gravel in the runoff areas going forward. What a crazy novel idea

For this pic that was posted, what is the one before last column to the right, the one called ON?
Is it the lap they did their fastest lap? That's all I could come up with.

What a bunch of crap. Just ruins what would have been one of the more enjoyable races of the season
I wonder what it would take for them to go "wait, maybe we're the problem here, not the drivers." That is just insane.
It's bad when the entire broadcast is basically reviews of turn 10 or live commentary of them just saying yes or no when a car passes turn 10.
Carlos can't catch a break with these stupid rules

If many drivers are having a problem with track limits, it's not a driver problem, they need to make an adjustment to the track.
or the drivers could just drive slower around that turn.

or the drivers could just drive slower around that turn.
But if you push the limit on turn 10 every single time around for 70 laps, you're likely saving yourself more than that one 5 second penalty you might get, so it's worth it.
The penalty needs to be more severe. But by penalty, it doesn't need to mean more of a time penalty. The penalty can be the gravel traps or something along those lines.
If you put gravel or whatever, the turn is essentially the exact same. Drivers aren't going outside the line because they simply can't avoid it, they can. Make it more punitive and they will easily avoid it.

You are correct.

McLaren bringing back the chrome this weekend.
They would have used more chrome but...

- FIA says can only change the whole livery on limited occasions (if partner-funded)
- Weight would make it a performance issue
- Team also wanted to retain some of the papaya identity it now has

Yikes, that looks terrible.
No problem with the chrome or the papaya, but all that together looks like shite.

They have the best livery in F1 and refuse to use it other than an odd race here and there.

Just catching up. I knew there were going to be some post race penalty shuffling. One thing I thought I saw on Max's fast lap live was him go wide on one of the first sector turns. I thought Id see his fastest lap be deleted. Guess I was mistaken.
This was a fantastic race if you take the penalties out. If F1 doesnt get this handled, they are going to lose massive viewership.

It makes no sense to me why Canada is stuck between two consecutive European races on one side and six on the other.
