I think Honey Badger 2.0 has been checked out since he realized Lando's the number 1 at McLaren.

AM just replacing one legendary World Champion with another. Marketing move. Stroll money talks.

Might be best for all involved if Danny leaves. The relationship isn't sour and Mclaren and Danny both maybe get what they want.
If he stays another year and goes through a nasty divorce it might look bad on both sides.

Agree. If Ric retires now and goes to golf cart racing, it sets up a perfect opportunity to have an American driver like Sargeant or Herta enter F1 and take the sport to another level for Liberty.

they were ready to move on to the next driver.
Wonder why that would be. Alonso has proven that he can still drive.

Im not sure Zac isn't just using that F1 seat as bait to build a stable of Indy drivers.

20MM a year and his cliff is going to happen sooner than later.
Alpine may very well end up on the wrong end, but I wouldn't bank my longterm future on someone 40+ in this sport.

Binotto says pace of the car, not strategy, was the problem.
It "wasn't behaving well" because it had the wrong fricking tires on it.

Doubtful - he raced for them when they were called Renault. Haven't seen that, but rumors like that are peak Silly Season.
Ya, I'll have to find the website that is reporting it. I don't see anyone else, so it's probably a fake.

Rumors are that Alonso wanted an F1 drive past 2024 (when Alpine was going after LMPh)
He had the opportunity to head up their Le Mans programme and be their Ace...considering he's won it twice, I can't think of a better driver in the world to get it done
But seeing as how he wants to be in F1 past 2024, there is no way Apline or Alonso could rectify those differences... especially with Piastri coming on
The real team to watch is Williams... who takes Latifi's spot now? de Vries?? Albon doesnt have a seat open, that's for sure.. I think Gasly stays at AT
Surely Schumacher stays at HAAS
Danny Ric has one more year at McLaren or else he's put out for an Indy driver (O'Ward?)
Crazy that Alpine is a lock for 4th in the constructors, and their world championship driver bails for an 8th-9th placed constructors team

Mclaren may come off real bad here

I saw an interview with Herta after he did the test with McClaren and it sounds like he'll be back with Andretti in Indycar next year. It was just a 2 day test.
Palou is the one who'll probably be with McClaren next year in some capacity if he can get his legal issues with his Ganassi contract settled.

Did I miss that Latifi is done?

What hasn't he done? He's top 2 Canadian driver in F1. Up until Hungary, every race he completed this year had him in the top 16. Got P1 for FP3 in Hungary. He assisted his good friend Max in winning the 2021 WDC. He's legit.
But for real, if Williams ever wants to get ahead, they need to drop him. His money is hard to justify if you look at how much he has cost the team. Dorilton needs to pony up a few million for a decent driver. Hell, they got away with paying Russell peanuts for a couple of seasons.
About Alonso, I find it hilarious that Otmar didn't know about Alonso until the AM press conference. Couldn't happen to a better guy.

Supposedly there are 30 million reasons Goatifi has that seat.

As a summer break treat, enjoy this video of the ultimate F1 engine sounds when they raced V10s - the golden era of F1 cars, IMO.
