I don’t know how “likely” that is.
Anyway…I think papa Stroll finds someone he hopes make baby boy look good. Maybe Hulk…or…maybe he wants a decent driver and pays Renault to borrow Piastri for a year…who knows.
Williams is interesting because idk if they’re willing to give up Latifi’s suitcase full of cash. If they want a real driver they’re gonna need some new sponsors.

Binotto says pace of the car, not strategy, was the problem.
I’m the last person to defend Ferrari, but them being unable to set a fastest lap on softs w/low fuel might support them being confused by how the car was handling. They fricked up…but that was a little weird…

Both Ponies were comfortable up front in qualifying, Russell just happened to pull some lap out of his arse he won’t replicate again on that track. I don’t buy the we didn’t have pace because they did at other points in the race.
And even if they were not peak condition is he saying the drivers don’t have the skill to win in those conditions? If so that is damning on what they think they have in caliber of driver. Guarantee Racey or Toto wouldn’t say that crap about Max or Lewis

Some reports this week are that Hamilton may stay 5 more years.

Fastest car in the field on average and only 5 podiums. Incredible.

Ferrari needs new leadership. Plain and simple

Charles' luck in 2022:
- 3rd to 6th in Imola thanks to his mistake
- 1st to DNF in Spain thanks to a engine failure
- 1st to 4th in Monaco thanks to Ferrari strategists
- 1st to DNF in Azerbaijan thanks to engine failure
- 1st to 4th in Silverstone thanks to Ferrari strategists
- 1st to DNF in France thanks to his mistake
- 1st to 6th in Hungary thanks to Ferrari strategists
So he has basically lost out on 6 wins, 5 of which were obviously due to car failures /team strategy screw ups, and 1 of his own making (which is also debatable, but if he spoke the truth about stuck gas pedal maybe he sleeps with the fishes - who knows WTF happens behind the scenes in Maranello).

Just woke up to see that… wow, why???
AM is terrible this year, at least Alpine has him consistently in the mid single places.

Just four days ago Alonso said he wanted to stay at Alpine:
racefans.net/2022/07/28/alonso-prioritises-new-alpine-deal-over-replacing-vettel-at-aston-martin/
Since his Alpine contract had not been renewed yet, it looks like Alpine was keeping its options open, and Lawrence probably gave him an offer he couldn't refuse. The problem here is that Alonso is getting to the end of his career and now he's going backwards. He has no chance of getting back to a championship-winning team, so his goal has to be just winning another race or two before he retires, and now that goal has been made harder. But who knows, we'll have a better idea next year who is getting the most out of the new rules. The first year of a new rules package is always the most chaotic.

Money
Obviously, but Alonso comes off as a competitor who could give 0 fricks about the money, dude has more than he needs already.
Would have expected him to stay or if he was gonna move, try for mclaren when Ric is done.
