I'll agree with you on this. I guess it's like FT said. It was a culmination of puzzling/bad decisions.

If Vettel and Hamilton's results for the past 8 years were reversed then their hatred/mentions would be reversed as well.

Just a thought looking at driver champion standings.

At some point wouldn't it make more sense to park Latifi's car and pour all remaining Williams cap money into Albon's car.

I mean seriously WTF is Latifi and his car producing?

Bringing in the sponsor money so they can put the upgrades in Albon’s car is all I can think of at this point.

you misspelled Ross Brawn

He won at Benetton, then resurrected Ferrari with schumi, then a championship year with the old Honda/Brawn team then created the juggernaut Mercedes team.

And brought us this generation of cars that seem to have cured at least some of the problems.

Surprised Ferrari doesn’t have an intern running through the grandstand crowd-sourcing pit strategy at this point

Most understated take. Most excellent.

I waited to watch this race, what was I thinking.

Frank was stubborn to a fault, and it cost him in the end. He was unable to adapt his management style to a changing world. The whole Newey fiasco set Williams back immensely. Newey wanted more input and ownership in the team, and Frank was too stubborn to let that happen.

Honestly it just seemed once Charles went out the ponies were scrambling with what the hell to do. Just seemed frazzled as a whole and it’s a shame because Sainz was dealing this weekend.

Did yall see the track workers consoling LEC after his crash. Dude took it hard.

Tells driver to pit during overtake

How much lag is there between the radio messages occurring before they make it on screen? It seemed to be exactly as the overtake was happening, but there was a transcription of the message so it couldn’t have been immediate, right?

So question for you guys who have been around F1 way longer than me.

Is Williams now relegated to being a minor / dev league for Mercedes?

Why wouldn't Williams go out and try to ink a deal with Audi, Porsche, Honda(seems to be separating from RBR), Andretti, HELL Hyundai! Somebody that can build an engine.

Seem sad for such a storied team.

How much did Williams daughter actually set the team back?

Not immediate for sure, but the announcers on tv even mentioned it not being that big a gap because they discussed the same thing.

Hell even 15-30 seconds earlier you can see Sainz on track pulling Checo in, the pit wall was simply looking at data on the car and not paying attention to what the hell was actually happening on track.

This was my argument to any claim of Radio LAG, it was obvious Carlos was in overtake mode way before the quote silly BOX call

The broadcast crew even mentioned they're not always live but given Sainz's reaction, it's safe to say it was still not a good time

Putting all the blunders and silliness aside, telling him to pit while overtaking, then not pit, then pit later....

I think they made the right call to bring him in, I thought they should have done it earlier when Carlos asked to box but I think at that point they were considering if they were going to the end to maybe get a podium. At the end of the day they made the safe call that only cost them 1 point and a podium vs leaving him out which could have cost them 13 points plus potentially a crash.

At best he'd have gotten up to 3rd he still would've had the task of opening a 5 second gap, which had he not, would put him back to 4th(12 points) but by pitting him they pretty much guaranteed fastest lap and got up to 5th(10 + 1 points).
