Little known fact, no driver has ever been wrong on the radio.
*Driver A completely runs driver B off the track and wrecks him*
Driver A on the radio: No no no. No! He didn't give me room. a-hole. That wasn't my fault. No. No.
The driver never sees himself at fault in the moment. Only after cooling down and looking at the actual event due they acknowledge yeah I might have been at fault here a little but not much.

I have HUGE respect for Lewis on what he and his family must have gone through to be a black F1 racer! Much less World Champion!
Don't mean I gotta agree with his private jet environmental hypocrisy politics!
Sorry he reminds me of most / nearly all politicians that just say what's popular NOT what they actually feel or how they act in private.

That’s fair. Hell, I don’t care if anyone likes him or not. The conversation started with someone saying they didn’t understand why Lewis got so much hate, and I tried to answer the question.

Fwiw, Lewis has said many times about the hypocrisy with his lifestyle. Spoken at length about what he does to mitigate and how he knows it isn't easy or how he isn't perfect.
I know that doesn't matter in this discussion, just pointing out the nature of the backlash on a political topic.

I can't disagree that there are absolutely people pulling against Lewis because the color of his skin.
Just as there are people pulling for him because the color of his skin.
I don't envy that part of his reality.
I'll keep pulling for Magnussen because he told a fellow F1 driver to suck his balls mate! LOL

KMag also said he would never return to F1 unless he could win. Then came slinking back to Guenther.

Sometimes you say something out of ego but realize the smart play is to stay in the game and see how it plays out.
These guys are ALL emotional.
I would love to hear what each would say about fellow drivers without the F1 Cumbaya talk track.

I really think the worst you would hear is the immediate post race.
Minus the special circumstances of those whole genuinely dislike each other.
There is probably some brotherhood type thing that make the cast majority of relationships at minimum cordial.
For instance, in 2016 there is a famous picture of (virtually) every driver at dinner together. The custom/rule/joke was always that the WDC had to foot the bill; Hamilton had also picked the restaurant and put it together. But allegedly Nico stepped in and everyone ended up splitting the tab instead of sticking him with the bill.

Lot of stronzos in this thread.
But for real, every week/race, I begin to see how much fabricated drama DtS creates.

Some fans want the toxicity that DtS promotes.

Drama creates Interest and ad $!
Its human nature and basic entertainment 101.
Based on the shows success, revenue driven to the sport, revenue driven to the drivers, and bringing in more US dollars I don't see it changing.
It may have some "created drama" but as the AD checks increase I Promise insiders will complain less and less.

I think we could do an entire thread to itself discussing / arguing over what effects DTS has and could cause. Perceived or Reality.

What I wonder is if DtS ($$$) has/will impact FIA/F1.
Just recently my wife (no pics) walked in me re-watching S4-E10. DtS presented qualifying as if it was one-lap qualifying with Lando finishing before Lewis and Max even put gloves and helmets on. Then showed them as if completing Indy 500 style qualifying. My wife responded, "wait, I thought they qualified with everyone on track at the same time."

This website is quite objectively a cesspool of minority hatred, deliberate misinformation, mired in a constant fight against any type of societal progress. That’s not exactly controversial. Saying that Lewis Hamilton won’t have many fans here isn’t exactly a hot take.
99% of the people here don't dislike Lewis Hamilton because he's black and speaks well. They dislike like him because of his political views. The majority of the drivers don't wear their political views on their sleeve the way he and Vettel do. You could have just left it at that, but you wanted to make it racial.

Exactly. I was a young Lewis fan, but not an old Lewis fan. I don’t dislike him, just not a fan because he’s in to the wrong side of most politics, and environmentally hypocritical being that he’s sponsored by a Malaysian OilCompany. Also, since he’s a Brit the Brit announcers think he does no wrong. The worst homers in sport The pandering is annoying.
Now I can’t stand Vettel. He’s a vile hypocrite who wants to tell others how to live. Uses electric scooter around the paddock after he flys private jet to events.

That LSU Grad Alabama Fan poster has openly admitted to being racist on this very thread (or was it last season's, I forget)
How do you say shite like this without linking the comment?

That’s just not true. If it were, Vettel would get just as much hate on this site as Hamilton does. But he doesn’t. I’m in this thread daily, and he is rarely, if ever, mentioned. Maybe that’s because he isn’t in contention, but he’s no less vocal about his views now.
I peruse lots of threads on this site, and you literally can’t post anything without a conservative poster shitting all over it by bringing in a (typically racially-charged) political angle. Nearly every thread on this website is rife with it. You can tell that fairy tale to someone else.

I promise you’re just as big a hypocrite in your own ways, yet you give yourself much more grace than you afford others. Hopefully you’ll grow up and realize this someday. I did, and it’s benefited my worldview immensely.

He doesn't get as much hate because he drives around 11-15th place each week. Plus a lot of people hate Mercedes. You're starting see the comments about Russell on here now. End of story.
