Checko should have stayed out he was P3 and might have given LH a fight for 2. Yes, he had a 5 sec penalty coming for bad release but the 2 behind him might have fought enought to get ahead by more than 5 secs. Had he passed LH he would have lost it afterwards but had a chance at P3 still.

quote:Honda seemed to think it was all the bike and wrote a new contract for rossi and said sign it by the end of the day. He said GFY and went to Yamaha, the equivalent of moving from red bull to Williams, and kicked Hondas arse the next year.
I don't remember why Valentino Rossi and Honda had a falling out, but it seemed to be understood that he would never go back to Honda.
In F1 its 80-90% the car but in motogp the rider matters alot more as Fabio Quartararo has shown for 2 years. His teammates can't break the top 15 but he runs at the front every race.

I haven't watched MotoGP the last few years, but I remember when Casey Stoner was the only guy who could handle (and dominate with) the Ducati. I was reminded of that when Max went through a series of teammates who couldn't get close to him. The cars are designed around the needs of the #1 driver, so it's somewhat understandable if the #1 driver has an unusual driving style. I seem to remember that Michael Schumacher liked a car that was more oversteery than most other drivers.

Alonso won WDC with two cars that were allegedly near death traps for anyone else who touched them.

quote:the Ducatis have been ridiculous the last 5-6 years with their straight line speed in motogp, motoamerica and WSBK. somehow Quartararo drags his pig of a Yamaha up to the front more often than not. Its the same old inline 4 versus vtwin that's gone on for years

It's getting harder for me to like him, but I still feel some sort of attachment to him.
George has a lot of PR in him, but also seems like one of the most likeable people outside of the track.
I don't know what more humilty you want from him. At least he gives his honest take on things then admits he is wrong when he sees it.

It’s actually mind boggling how they can be so good at building a car at this level but can’t get simple strategy concepts down.
The Ferrari team went to the Les Miles school of 2-min offense to learn their trade.

I can say from an unbiased viewpoint that currently I think basically all the drivers think they they did nothing wrong and everyone else is wrong, and they whine about it. I don't blame them, virtually everyone thinks they've done no wrong in the heat of the moment in athletics.
Some dudes get more radio quotes put out on the air, so those dudes probably are thought of as whining more but we really just hear it more.

It's almost impossible to know when you're in the car who's fault it really was. I've blamed people during a race for wrecking me and then watched the replay and had to apologize. I try to keep my mouth shut these days, unless I know it was my fault and then apologize immediately.

But it is really hard to tell. Things happen just insanely fast and you have such limited visibility.

HAAS decision makers need drug tested. Worked up to an advantageous position then instead of staying out during caution (knowong they had to stop again) they bring them in and destroy their race. Idiots in that group, have cost them so many points this year!
They were on a two stop the entire time, they got fricked by the Yellow, so they needed to change the tires a 2nd time so they did it again

Of course they all complain, but Russell comes off like a whiny little girl with the way he complains. Verstappen comes off like a psycho, one is entertaining, one is annoying.
And I'm not even a huge Verstappen guy, but there's no doubt the dude is an absolute killer. He'll push it to the absolute limit where as Russell comes off like a guy that will wilt and then complain about it after

Very happy to see Ferrari keep fricking up and handing max wins.

I didnt catch it live and the race highlight replay doesnt show it. I really hope its not upgrade related.
Mag said he had a bad vibration after the hit with Goatifi.

Downvote this - I'd rather have Maze-Spin causing safety cars to make races more interesting and remove Goatifi AND Stroll - but this is F1.

I for one will not miss the painted parking lot.
Have to say that SC really fricked Haas. That, and they had tire deg problems as KMag went from being all over Bottass to fading bad several laps before the Latifi incident.
Also, it appears only Kmag will have the upgrade package next week.

At Haas there is another problem: The large aerodynamics package is to make its debut in Budapest. The first and possibly the only one this season. Underbody and side boxes are new. It has already been postponed by a week because the wind tunnel in the development phase once spit out irritating values ??that first had to be verified using CFD simulation.
So Haas will only travel to Budapest with an upgrade kit for the 13th World Championship round. Only one subfloor is finished in time. The package is awarded to the driver who has more points. This is Magussen.
However, it is not at all certain whether the favored driver has an advantage. Large upgrades often only work on the second try. And there is a risk of starting from the pit lane. "If you cause an accident in qualifying and don't have any spare parts, you have to go back to the old specification. That means starting from the pit lane," explains Steiner.

His pre-podium interview rubbed me the wrong way today. I get bitching on the radio. Whatever. I know they're all competitors and this and that, but he was adamant about his lack of fault. I feel he could have handled it better by saying something along the lines of "that was an unfortunate bit of the race. We'll have to go back to review what happened."
