This website is quite objectively a cesspool of minority hatred, deliberate misinformation, mired in a constant fight against any type of societal progress. That’s not exactly controversial. Saying that Lewis Hamilton won’t have many fans here isn’t exactly a hot take.
That being said, there are corners of this site that I enjoy, and have for many years. You take the good with the bad.

Hamilton is black, well spoken, and speaks out on climate/social justice issues. For those reasons, he won’t every be very popular on this website, regardless of how fair/well-mannered he is. It’s sad but true. Also, motorsport is historically a very white/blue collar sport, and there’s a lot of people who’d like to keep it that way.

IMO Lewis' biggest fear is not winning. Even when he had the most dominant car for years you could hear the doubt and fear on almost every radio message
But it sounds like LeClerc is a bit like Lewis, who is a 7x champ.
A true fear of not winning is a great trait to have for an athlete IMO.

Interesting how I stated that I probably disagree with 90% of Lewis' political views and his tendency to be outspoken as a reason I might root for other drivers.

Wait, Ricciardo speaks Italian?! Then why does he pronounce his own name wrong? He is in an international series with fans around the world. I've heard other drivers pronounce his name correctly.

I've heard him say he isn't exactly fluent, but knows enough to get by. He did drive for Toro Rosso, so sure he picked up the necessary words.
Would imagine he pronounces it the way his Italian father pronounces it.

When he won in Italy a year or two ago he was asked to say something in Italian to the crowd. He went on to speak in perfect Italian for a couple of minutes. The interviewer was surprised.
