Obviously I am biased, but I have followed Alonso since his F3000 season in the year 2000 and I have never seen a more pure pound for pound all around racer in every aspect of the word.

Fernando Alonso warns Max Verstappen he will go 'maximum attack' at Turn 1

MONTREAL -- Fernando Alonso vowed to roll back the years and attack Max Verstappen at the start of the the Canadian Grand Prix, saying it would be a "sweet" feeling to lead a race after so long.
Alonso will start from the front row on Sunday for the first time since the 2012 German Grand Prix.
While Alonso does not expect to have the pace to challenge Verstappen or Ferrari's Carlos Sainz, who starts third, over race distance, he wants to have some fun at the start.
"The goal is to lead the race in Lap 1, so Turn 1 maximum attack," Alonso said. "And then after that they can go and they can fight but it would be sweet to lead the race."

Since there is a chance that Alonso and Hamilton could be fighting for a podium on track after many seasons, here's a crazy couple of stats for those two that you guys will enjoy:
If Alonso had scored a total of 13 more points at right moments in his career, he'd be a 5-time champion by now.
If you think that's crazy, here's an even crazier one:
