karun: “your porpoising doesn’t look that bad, compared to ferrari”
lando: “yeah because we can’t go as fast as them”

I saw George making some statements about 'all the drivers' when it comes to porpoising and the cars over the next 4 years as it pertains to health/safety.
Obviously some teams are worse than others, but I wonder if he is speaking as GPDA rep or just speaking.

I'd tell him to talk to Toto about fixing the car.
And there are at least 20 guys in F2 alone that would happily take his seat.
Tired of his whining.

Why the delay this morning?
Posted on 6/11/22 at 6:24 am to horsesandbulls
Had to reset TecPro's that the F2 guys tried to knock down in their sprint race

Didn't catch FP1 or FP2, but watching FP3. That Merc looks brutal. It's still putting up decent times, but man, it looks like a hooptie with hydraulics. The AT is looking pretty good.

I'm sure it's about safety though

Damn the proposing is crazy…. You could hear Danny Rics car bouncing.

It's like starting the race in monaco in the rain. Speed is controlled by the pedals. Go race. If you have to much porpoising then raise the car and get on with it. The teams that manage this aero issue best will be at the front. This that don't can tool around at the back until the figure out a solution

Can someone help a newbie out with downforce and the different packages i understand what downforce is but is a ‘low downforce package’ equipped to reduce the downforce on a faster track like this one or is it for low downforce conditions? Which I guess the latter wouldn’t make sense for this track but I’m probably wrong. For some reason I can’t wrap my head around this.
So for Monaco they would have wanted to increase downforce?

More tight corners you want more downforce. Long straights and less tight corners you trim out for top end speed. Baku has a straight that's 200 miles long so you get indy 500 like trimming and take your medicine in the corners.

Basicly what Fester said, Baku is a track that you want more pure speed due to the long straights, and you are better off sacrificing down force to achieve that. Monaco and Monza are on the extremes of each end where you make more time up either in cornering or in flat out speed.

Merc engine was dialed way back due to 'mileage'
Not sure if that is the quali/race engine he will run this week.

Yeah, I don't know if he was saying it specific to his car, or floating it out there from all the drivers. He talked about the new physio other drivers are doing to cope and the dangers of bottoming out through turns (Alonso and Mick crashes earlier in the season).
No doubt he has legit complaints about his own car, but pretty much every driver has complained at some point about the situation. It sort of seemed like he was speaking for the group, but it obviously has his own interest in mind.

Alonso didn't look near as strong today. Kind of expected him to be higher running a quali sim at the end.
Who knows what is happening these day in FP though.

I buy the safety aspect. Dudes are getting their brains scrambled. Probably not a good idea for it to go on for years.
