Im liking this course. Technical but fast. The last turn before the straight seems a little slow which may be a disadvantage for the RB and Ferrari top end. It doesn’t look like there’s been a lot of prep on the surface, if any.

They brought in some equipment a couple weeks ago to expose the granite/stone underneath.

Motorsports.com put out a good video that I will find if you are interested.

By prep, I meant getting some rubber on the track. It seems the construction is great with minimal bouncing.

I'm thinking Schu Jr. doesn't like this track much at this point.

All times on softs except for Carlos. Interesting Max only got in 14 laps due to his overheating issues.

Albon: P7; Latifi P20

I know it's only FP1, but damn. Latifi's time in F1 has to be limited. I know there are rumors of an unnamed driver(s) mid-season shake-up.

Nyck De Vries was one of the names mentioned. If Albon is continually ~5 spots up the grid on Latifi then his days are numbered, factor in all the crashes and he's quickly showing he doesn't belong in F1. Now that Mazepin is gone its really going to shine the light on Latifi as being the weakest driver.

ETA: I feel like Mick needs to step it up too, Kevin has shown the car has potential and I really expected Mick to have ended up in the points by now.

He’s basically a rookie again after driving that shite car for a year. I think he needs to be more aggressive though.

Ferrari did not run the low drag wing in FP1. Used the same one they have all season.

Lewis took his earrings out for practice but the FIA gave him a grace period on the nosering.

Dude is a walking liability at this point… What’s that, his 4th crash of the year?

Bet Ferrari is regretting signing him for next year already. Going to cost them more in parts than his contract.

Mario is a guest in the commentary box for FP2 and he said everything is in place for Andretti to join the field for the 2024 season...they just need the approvals.

Budget is in place
Engine deal is in place
Factory/HQ location has been decided

Crofty then asked if the other teams would welcome them with open arms and he said "well I hope so".

He also said he's 3000% behind Herta being the next American driver.
