Sainz tried his best to put it into the wall... lucky there

Sainz had been overdriving that car for weeks.

Or overdriving his talent.

Crofty then asked if the other teams would welcome them with open arms and he said "well I hope so".

Horner and Toto both have made comments concerned about splitting the pie. Not sure they want someone else at the table.

Those new brake ducts might be taking too much cooling away

Think 2:2 in quali and 3:1 in race finishes.

Surprised the small upgrades made by Merc has really slowed the porpoising

ETA: the latest, per interview, is HAM is running with a heavuer floor for development/research.

Maybe Seb could focus more on driving and less on virtue signalling.

Missed FP1, but catching up on FP2. O/U on how many red flags are caused by turns 12-16? I say two in qualifying and one in the race.

Also, there are still seats available on the Russell bandwagon. We are a prim and proper bunch of WASPs, and we really know how to get down with a stout earl Grey.

Some strong feelings coming out on the track

quote:

“It’s really disappointing that there’s no grip off-line, racing will be bad because of that,” Perez said after FP2.

quote:

Norris called the track “extremely tricky” and echoed Perez’s ire at the lack of grip off-line, something which will limit passing places.

“It’s very bumpy in some places, which we were not expecting,” Norris said.

“I think everyone was expecting it to be very smooth and beautiful. But it’s not.

“The surface is very tricky, you go off-line anywhere and it’s pretty much game over, you spin, you end up in the wall. It’s punishing. That’s why you’ve seen a lot of people ending up in the barriers.

Am I correct in remembering that the FIA designed the track?

Knew it wasn't Tilke, but had to look it up, Apex Circuit design.

Am I wrong in thinking it’s not the design, but the compound used for the asphalt to meet the Pirelli standards?

I mean they were already patching prior to P1, sounds like the South Florida weather didn’t mesh well with the formulation.

Man it’s almost like the best drivers in the world should be able to handle adverse conditions or something. Sorry this isn’t gonna be a easy Sunday drive fellas

Yeah, the typical complaints about tight or turns are just par for the course. Just talking about the course.

Think the comments on not being able to pass and the bumpiness are the bigger concerns. Not being able to actually race because of the surface is different than people wanting it to be wider or complicated.

It’s been pretty hot and humid the entire week down here. Sunday may be the hottest day of the year so far.

I am keen to see what the F1-75 looks like with the new PU in Leclerc's car tomorrow. I assume they were using the old one for P1/P2 as teams normally do when they have a working "old" PU.

I would be smiling too George.

Scuderia.net is so done with Carlos. They barely have any vitriol left for Hammy. Who am I kidding they always have plenty left for "Two Chains".
