Gasly apparently was checked out after the race but was feeling better once out of the car. Said it was worst on left hand corners.

Love the shakeup this season…. Seeing Alpha and Haas have drivers in the top 10 consistently is awesome.
Disappointed in McLaren this year though

It’s great. My favorite part about these cars is that once an overtake happens they don’t just pull away. They are gonna go at it for several laps. Nice change of pace.
I think McLaren will get there. Already improved leaps from last week. Won’t be surprised at all to see them getting top 5s by the time Miami rolls around

The gap between the McLaren cars both in top speed and best lap time is pretty big. Is Daniel the issue?

The driver doesn't have much impact on terminal speed so I'd say there was something else going on. Likely testing parts trying to find the speed.
Ric hasn't completely forgotten how to drive.

In the post race show Lando was pretty down on the outlook for the rest of the season. Outside of high speed tracks like SA, they are pretty much screwed.

Max fans listening to him cry about how unfair legreg’s driving was

Italy’s La Gazzetta dello Sport reports that at least five were leading the boycott movement – Lewis Hamilton, George Russell, Fernando Alonso, Pierre Gasly and Lance Stroll.

Listening to Max he seemed on the boycott side.
Some reports have said it was unanimous

They all whine like bitches on the radio. That's not me taking up for Max, just stating reality.

Max is reigning champ and at the front. We are going to hear all his radio messages now.

I'm watching the race from Mag's incar now and from the first lap he was leaning his head on the side padding when cornering. Clearly couldn't tilt his head into the corner like he normally does. On the fast sweepers it is very noticeable as his helmet goes from side to side opposite of the norm.
Car was porpoising pretty heavily as well.
I'm liking this F1TV and being able to watch replays of any race, with all the add ons, at any time.

I know
But max fans were apoplectic last year about Lewis whining on the radio.

Just got home and was able to watch the race.
Fun to watch, felt bad for Perez with the unlucky safety car, Russell drove well, and surprised no red flag.
Edit: damnit man, I want Haas to win the entire thing one year just because of Guenther quotes alone. Thanks for finding this one in the post above.

Very surprised. Latifi managed to keep all of his crash debris off to one side of the track. About the only thing he did right this weekend.

quote:Merc might not have the best solution for the new car regs, but I think the fuel change is the probably the biggest reason for their lack of pace, given all of their customer teams are also struggling.
here is also the new E10 fuel they have to use and Ferrari's supplier Shell seemed to have gotten a handle on the change quicker than Petronis.

Do the engine customers have to source fuel from same manufacturer? Such as Ferrari & Shell, Merc & Petronas?
Eta: obviously Merc team can’t change given Petronas as title sponsor but why couldn’t McLaren or Williams?

Most of the teams have individual fuel and lubricant suppliers but I have the feeling that for example Gulf (McLaren) is using the Petronis formula for the fuel.
The teams can use any fuel supplier they like but obviously they are "stuck" with their sponsors.
The problem for the Mercedes power customers (who I think probably are all using the same formulation just with different names on the drums) is the fuel is now homologated through the end of 2024. They can not change fuel for technical reasons. IE Petronis can not reformulate the fuel this week for Albert Park.
Shell and Ferrari could have found 25hp with a new formulation yesterday and they simply can't use it now.
I personally hate technology freezes though I understand the reasoning. That being said I think the end of Merc PU dominance during the turbo-hybrid era is something the sport REALLY needed. I do hate that Merc (a team that ran away from F1 when they fricked up) is dragging down two of the great legacy teams in F1.

Before the season I thought Zhou was just a cynical
play for the China market, but he is quietly doing very well so far.
