You know it's bad when one of the talking heads says we don't need to be seeing the replay right now.

I watched F1 TV this week for a change if pace, he had a few suggestions for the producer. When it went to the crowd after Max finally passed the Nooooo!!
It was kind of interesting to see that all the close racing made it hard for them to pitch to the filler pieces like tech talk.

I wonder if we'll see Ferrari run a touch less drag going forward to get more straight line speed.
Disclaimer: I know nothing about setting up the cars. I just am fascinated by it all.

McLaren and Haas both faster best laps than either Merc.
Nice.

Mercedes engineer Peter Bonnington apologised to Hamilton after he crossed the chequered flag. He said: "OK Lewis, that's P10. Sorry about that."
Hamilton replied: “Is there even a point for that position?"
Must be nice.

No action over the last 2 laps yellow.

Alex Albon has been given a 3-place grid drop for the next race and 2 penalty points for his incident with Lance Strol
Driving for Williams they may have to spread those 3 spots over a couple races.

He and Sainz both are. It's refreshing to see.
Agreed. Really wanted to see LeClerc overtake Max on that last lap.

LeClerc just seems so intelligent behind the wheel. Not sure I have seen tons of his battles, but he really has shown the ability to set traps for Max the last two races.

Or they didn’t show what happened to Bottas
They showed it but the announcers didn't say a word.
He went into the pits and retired
Was just reading some post race stuff and apparently he was overheating.

His shot was going into the yellow-flagged turn 1. He had the run that time but had to back out. He had a run again on the last lap but no way he could get around him by the start-finish line unless he had been right on Max's tail coming out of 27.

LeClerc and Max are the two best drivers on the grid, imo.

Yeah, the corner yellow took away what may have been another pass for the lead.

He said on the radio saying that he felt like his intestines were falling out, it was the worst 5 laps of his life, and he’s in a lot of pain. his mechanics had to help him out of the car.

Trying to catchup…what has made Merc slow and Ferrari as fast as we are seeing this year? I was reading about the car and rule changes but wondering if there is a primary reason why HAM was back of pack?

Gasly apparently was checked out after the race but was feeling better once out of the car. Said it was worst on left hand corners.

Significantly new formula change with ground effects being the major source of downforce. Ferrari had been devoting resources to the 22 car while Merc was developing the 21 car all year for the championship race. Ferrari also has an advantage in CFD and wind tunnel time due to a sliding scale based on previous finishes. In the end, though Merc went in a very unusual design direction with their car and seem to have muffed it. There is also the new E10 fuel they have to use and Ferrari's supplier Shell seemed to have gotten a handle on the change quicker than Petronis.
Bottom line Ferrari just designed a better engine/car combination than Merc. RB and Ferrari are very similar on pace but because they took different approaches they are very different from sector to sector. It will lead to different ones having different advantages on different tracks assuming development of the cars doesn't close the gapos where they are quite different.
