Yes the race was monotonous garbage.

Three recent 600's have been snoozers - last night, 2018 when Kyle Busch dominated, and 2016 when Truex led all but like 7 or 8 laps. Charlotte hasn't put on good racing in quite some time - hopefully the next gen car will help bring back SOME racing instead of parading.

Should the race be shortened? I know it’s the longest race of the season, but I feel it gets cumbersome around lap 300 or so.

Maybe switch the format?

Can’t remember the year, but I wanna say one year it went past midnight. That’s just a long day regardless if you’re a casual or passionate fan.

This is why I record the races and start two hours late. Finish at the same time.

I feel like the COT just debuted a few years ago. They are already making a next gen? What are the changes?

The COT debut in 2007. The Gen 6 (current Gen) debut in 2013.

Everything but the engine.

Different chassis, body, 4 wheel independent suspension, 6 speed sequential gearbox, 18 inch wheels, etc, etc.

Basically an Aussie Supercar.

Interesting. It's an interesting issue. NASCAR has to focus on safety and setups that minimize the risk of accidents, but that's one of the bigger issues driving down fan enthusiasm. Sadly, accident free races are boring races. People want the action. NASCAR wants parades with the occasional pass.

If they were worried about minimizing accidents they wouldn't have the packs at the plate tracks.

The strategic placing of a stretch of tape on the front grill to affect the handling of a million dollar car has always baffled me.

Haha!
I understand it now from listening to Larry, but it really is sort of amazing.

Even funnier when it’s a hot dog wrapper and the car starts overheating.

If anyone watches/listens to the Dale Jr. Dowload podcast the last couple episodes they’ve really torn into Teresa Earnhardt. Been some great stuff.

Yeah. Ty Norris didn’t walk on any eggshells talking about the Teresa effect on the downfall of DEI

It is funny how everyone sides with Dale Jr but we have never heard the other 2 sides of the story (Teresa's and the real truth) We have heard bits in court and the court sided with Teresa.

I'm gonna have to listen to it. Anytime The Wicked Witch of The South is ripped a new one by Junior or Kelley is always a great listen.

It’s basically who owns the name and who can make money off of it squabbling from what I understand

There’s way more to it though.

This weeks episode of Dale Jr's podcast has been amazing. Listen or watch for sure.

Teresa sued Kerry Earnhardt over using the Earnhardt name and after seven years in court, the courts rules in Kerry's favor saying you can't copyright a surname. Kerry has Earnhardt outdoors.

One tidbit from Ty Norris episode is that DEI, mainly, Teresa didn't pay the drivers for months.

Dale's death really had so much of an effect on NASCAR. I can't imagine what DEI would have been if he had not died.

I’ve listened to the episode with Kerry, and it was great. I’ve gotta listen to the one with Ty Norris.

Also, Talladega has announced that there will be no capacity restrictions for the stands or infield for the October race. Camping and whatnot is back.
