Pog did the climb in 16 mins at 6.9 W/KG and that included the bike change so the actual numbers are even higher.
Highly questionable

Can you explain this a little further?
On a standard road bike you have three points of contact the seat, pedals, and your hands (or forearms) on the bars. Fignon that year used bull horn bars which are very similar to the bottom section of aero bars you see today.
The aero bars that Lemond used allow for both hands and forearms/elbows so along with the seat and pedals makes 4 points of contact.
As to how much the aero bits benefitted Lemond one of the bike magazines did wind tunnel testing and estimated the time advantage was about 1 minute.
I certainly don't question the win but I don't value a win by tech in cycling as much as one done with legs and lungs. I for example rate Merckx hour record over Moser and Boardman's records. To show the extent of what bike tech can do a presenter (never pro) for GCN trained for 3-4 months used all the current tech and did 47.6km in an hour record attempt, Merckx only did 49.4km and he was one if not thre greatest cyclists to ever live.
Today's stage was pretty much man on man. No team members to shepherd Rog and their tech was pretty even. Both Bianchi and Colnago make pretty heavy TT frames. If Pog had ridden a road bike the whole TT he would have lost to Roglic in the stage.

Poor Ollie had no chance

I am pretty sure he will piss and bleed clean but the B samples will probably tell the tale 10 years from now, maybe more maybe less. The dude beat the entire Jumbo team damn near by himself. He lost 1:21 to Roglic in that crosswind split on stage 7 and finishes 1:01 up. 2:22 on Roglic and Jumbo and Jumbo is riding HARD across the board.
I am not fingering Pogacar even the Lantern Rouge is dirty, which doesn't bother me a bit.

Found our baw with Pog. Thanks, BlackCoffeeKid for the heads up.

I was doing the same thing...then a bike race broke out and I forgot all about him.

I guess the question is whether it was mechanical or some new kind of drug like when CERA hit the peloton.

I will go out on a (pretty solid) limb and say it is NOT mech doping. There is no doubt some riders got away with it when it was still super-secret but once it was exposed there is no way someone in the World Tour would try it. If you get caught there is zero plausible deniability. It ain't Armstrong's arse cream.
It is new juice and/or better protocols.
BTW watching The Move and George says it is the most exciting tour he has ever been in or watched. Lance says it is the best performance he has ever seen. Lance mentioned the 89 TT but says this is completely different and gets eerily similar to my arguments and my use of mano y mano. 'Course Lance and George don't discuss chemical enhancements (unless it is PR lotion).

I believe some said on the R/peloton subreddt they estimated Pog did the last climb at an average of 6.9 watts/kg for 15ish minutes. fricking unbelievable.

While extremely impressive it isn't unprecedented IMO. Just take Wiggo's hour record, he averaged 440 for a full hour which because he weighs a tad more that is "only" 6.4 watts/kg but again for a 100% sustained hour. Pog's output would have been 457w if their numbers are correct and if Pog does weigh 146 which is what google tells me. Lance was said to put out 7 W/kg on even longer climbs. Froome put out 414w (5.78 W/kg) for over 40 minutes and was said to "regularly" produce 6.25 W/kg over 30 minutes.
I absolutely think he is juiced (as is the rest of the peloton).
My point being I don't see the raw power over time as the biggest telltale it is the recovery. The ability to do it day after day without fail is what made Lance unbeatable in the tour.

I somehow got to avoid the news of the stage through the day and just finished watching it. HOLE>E>shite what a tour. I can't think of a better one or at least one this exciting when thinking of all the stages and team tactics and some unknown juice.
Pog crushed it.
Pog crushed it.

What a great Tour. Was much needed working at home got to watch more TDF live than ever. It will surely be one of the best with amazing team effort of Lotto being bested by amazing individual effort of Pogacar.

Sepp Kuss about 1.5 km from finish. I'm thankful for the random German who found me afterwards and shared this picture.

You can barely make out Tigerdroppings.com on this one.
Maybe someone has it on DVR and can get a better screen cap. Cant screen capture on this Armed Forces Network box.

I haven't been following cycling as close in the last few years so didn't realize Gianetti is the boss of UAE. Talk about shady. Not only did he almost die when he was riding from using an experimental drug but he was smack dab in the middle of CERA with Ricco and Piepoli at Saunier Duval. God knows what Pog is on and whether it's approved for humans yet.

If you played a drinking game that each time the lead announcer says ‘Bob’, you would be druuunk.
