Doesn’t Fowler have no trade rights?

If true, the Cardinals just set the cost of Nolan Arenado, and it is going to be high:

Our @MLBBruceLevine just reported the Cardinals trade offer he heard for Nolan Arenado would be newly acquired Matthew Liberatore, Dakota Hudson, Carlos Martinez, and Tyler O'Neill. Good luck topping that offer, anyone.

Would be a terrible trade for Cardinals, you do not deal Young, starting pitching for 29 year olds with huge contracts, and on their decline.

What type of deal would it take for Ozuna? Or Castellanos?

Mike Rizzo just spoke for 15+ minutes here at Winterfest. Some notes: - They feel their 3B options are in the organization right now. He also did not express a need to name an every-day starter. Stressed versatility and creativity w/ that spot and whole infield.

quote:

- Rizzo floated Carter Kieboom's name in the 3B discussion. He says that Kieboom is unproven as a major-league 3B, as we know, but they liked what they saw in a small sample size in the minors last year. - Asdrúbal Cabrera and Starlin Castro are also options there.

The above according to Jesse Dougherty.

Might mean Nationals are out on Donaldson or they may just be playing politics.

Looking like Donaldson is going back to the Braves.

im not a fan of what we would be giving Colorado. I know it will be a lot, but I dont want to lose both Hudson and the kid we just got.

A Nolan Arenado trade is more likely now than a Mookie Betts or Francisco Lindor trade, multiple

Well the Rockies would be picking up Carlos Martinez and his contract he is owed 23.4 million over next two years with two team options at 25 million combined which isn't much for a starter but a lot for a reliever the way they are using him

I don't mind losing any of the three pieces (Hudson, Martinez, Liberatore) individually, but in the aggregate it seems like too much. But I'm not as high on Hudson as a lot of people are. Liberatore would just feel like we never really had him, so why worry about it. And Carlos has his issues, that I don't know will ever be figured out.

Highways are extremely poorly lit down there.
