That was happening a lot in Venezuela. I read some English language articles from VZ journos last winter ball season when these things were happening. They basically said now that even the baseball players are no longer off limits, the country is gone.

Wilson Ramos got kidnapped down there and was held for a few days several years ago. The rumor was that Miguel Cabrera secretly paid the ransom to get him freed.

Per Rosenthal, 4 years $92M with a 5th year option that can make it $100M total. How in the everloving frick did the Braves not match that????

I will withhold a reaction until all the chips have fallen. Donaldson has been injury prone and was playing for this contract all year last year. Don't see him holding value past year two.
That being said, the Braves have to do SOMETHING for this offense now. Terrible message to send to the fans if they just do nothing to fill that void. Which if they dont do anything, we shouldn't be too surprised at this point.
