I'm not confident they have that ability

FYI: Just spoke with @JeffPassan on @101espn ... asked him if the move the Cardinals made yesterday is related to the Arenado reports ... he says he does not think the two are related ... that the Cardinals are beefing up their farm system bc it's the smart baseball thing to do.

Did the Cardinals make a run at Rendon? I can’t understand why a team would be trying to trade for Arenado if they weren’t trying to sign Rendon. Maybe they were and I missed it.

It sucks for STL Bryant is on the Cubs because they have a nice mix of what the Cubs need

Part of the issue for me is that the Rockies are going to ask for a boatload in return for a guy that can opt out in 2 years. They want a 7 year return for a potential 2 year player.

I would love Arenado in a Cardinals uniform, but not for that.

Trading for Areonado is an Asinine move, a Mo'ron move.

2 much money, for a guy his age, who's numbers will slide hitting in Busch 81 games a season.

You give up way 2 much for that contract and aged player.

NO more f'in big contracts for 29+ year old players for christs sake. That goldschmidt extension was asinine, especially the 5th year.

29 when season starts(april bday), and you are paying for his declining years with his contract.

It's a bad play, regardless of how others feel.

One thing I'll say about Mo... He's not afraid to make a lopsided trade.

The biggest arbitration case in terms of both salary and the gap between sides: George Springer vs. the Astros. He's asking for $22.5 million and Houston is offering $17.5 million, sources tell ESPN.

I was thinking the same thing. I was never as high on O’Neill as some. He’s just another Grichuk clone to me. Arozerena looked promising in spot duty. But I’ll take that swap for a quality LHP prospect. There’s not many good lefty arms in the system. And who knows if Gomber will ever be good enough to stick.
