This is very similar to when Dale, Sr. died. No updates on his condition, finally reported he had been killed in the crash.

Cars are not designed for an impact there. The nose of the other car could have penetrated into his seat.

Does not look good. Just because he is out of car does not mean anything in regard to condition he is in.

Is there a Post race coverage or something?

It’s the top of the hour so Fox had to go. Nothing on FS1.

Lots of damned screens for privacy. And a car that is mangled, for lack of a more descriptive word.

At least with this wreck, the ambulance looks to be in a hurry to get to the hospital.

With Senior’s wreck, that ambulance was in no hurry. They knew it was too late

Hoping for the best. I’ve been to over a dozen races in Daytona. The worst I ever saw in person was Geoff Bodine in a truck race, and everyone thought he died. He ended up surviving.

Video of that one

It was more like an open wheel wreck with how vulnerable Newman was and the violence of it.

don’t think Hamlin knew the severity of the crash when he did his victory spin

That absolutely rubbed me the wrong way.He was also high fiving himself in the car just before doing it

He had to hear some chatter on the radio .

Heard crowd cheering but couldn’t see much. One of Newman’s crew said he didn’t know if he was okay as he walked by. A Penske employee told me he is awake. #Daytona500
