that LSU had more depth and talent at receiver last year than Alabama did this year. I thought that much was obvious from his post.

Maybe, but the receivers aren't playing each other. This is the best offense bama has ever had and it's not really close. if they played 10 times it would probably be 5/5 with an average score of 58-54

We basically saw the game already... in 2019.

Despite the first round talent, this was a better offense by some degree, even after waddle went down

Mac 2020>>Tua 2019

Give me LSU 6-4 in a 10 game series.

Would love to see it, and got a very similar game last year.

The big asterisk with Bama's stats, not their fault, but the nature of this year's competition.

Sure they played an "all SEC" schedule, but IMO it was largely in name only. How do you measure the shear number of opt outs, limited practices, whole position groups missing/undermanned. No "true" road games as they were played in sparse stadiums.

I'm not going to analyze Bama's schedule, but if anyone knows, how much was this a factor? I honestly don't know.

I just don't see how you can fairly compare.

Basically this.

LSU team is better but anyone not believing this Alabama team could beat them is a fool.

It's football. The best or most talented team doesn't win every game.

This Alabama team is very good with a much better coach and staff.

6-4 seems right.

We saw this game last year, but Bama had Tua and Jerry Juedy to add to their powerful offense.... and LSU won AT their place.

Some serious similarities between these 2 teams but I see 3 differences -

+ Joe Burrow
+ LSU's defense was better overall than Bama's. And the LSU defense created their share of turnovers.
+ Bama's Oline is incredible. LSU's was damn good but I would give a strong advantage to Bama upfront in this one

And let's not forget LSU won week 2 AT Texas. With a Packed Stadium. And Week 11 AT Alabama with a packed stadium.

Then at the end of the season, LSU beat Clemson (defending National Champions) who had won 29 straight games.

So... it's close no doubt. 2 of the most explosive teams ever for sure.

I'm taking 2019 LSU 7 times out of 10.

Didn't 2018 Bama beat that same LSU team from 2019 minus Devin White, Greedy, and prime Delpit. 29-0.

No. Not even close, we also had different coaches

Would be a very entertaining game for sure.

QB - LSU by a wide margin
RB - I love CEH, but najee is a beast.
WR - Wash
OL - Bama
DL - Slight LSU advantage
LB - LSU
DB - Slight LSU advantage

In the end, it would be a complete offensive onslaught. The O/U for the O/U on this game would be like 90

This years Bama O-line looked awesome BUT with basically zero fans in the stands that could have made a difference.... the biggest question is where game would be played and could 2019 LSU put pressure on Jones....

Great question! Ohio State tried last night and Mac made them pay - finding a quick dump off to a wide open athlete for a big play.

And when Ohio State only rushed 4, no pressure.

But with Stingley, Fulton, Delpit, etc... we would cover long enough to give our pass rush a chance.

Like many have said previously - this Bama team was great. No doubt.

But we saw this game last year.... and LSU won at their place... and was up 33-13 at the half.

Has more to do with the defenses they faced.

Notre Dame was the best defense they face all year at #14. Georgia was #17 and then A&M was #29.

LSU faces 4 defenses better than those at #1, 3, 7, 13 and then also #17.

Bama benefited from an awful defensive year in the SEC and tOSU team that was ranked in the 30s and that is it.

Clemson was #3 on defense in the country going into that championship game last year.
