I don't think hitting is the problem for the Brewers. They kinda got away with not so good starting pitching last year because their pen was so stellar.

Well their starters still are pretty average on the whole, but their pen ain't near as good this year.

Really wanted them to sign Kimbrel but I get why they didn’t. Sucks that he went to Chicago of all teams.

Adbert Alzolay 4+ IP, 1 H, 1 ER, 2 BB, 5 K

Not bad for his first MLB game.

He looked good. Time will tell whether it was hitters learning him and maybe will adjust, or if he is for real.

Liked that he worked fast and his curve looked legit.

Second largest crowd in Busch III history for the return of Albert Pujols tonight, 48,423. Record is 48,556 and I bet they break that tomorrow.

5-1 Birds win it.

Reds just took another from Milwaukee with Luis Castillo pitching tomorrow. They're 4.5 games out now.

Brewers are reeling, lost 2 of 3 to the awful Giants and swept by the Padres and now have dropped the first 2 to the Reds.

5 L's in a row and 2-8 last 10.

Hittingnid a problem. Cain has been mediocre. Aguilar atrocious. Shaw even worse.

Losing our closer was bad. Jeffress didn’t even start the season w the club.

Honestly, when you go into the season w 2.5 rookie pitchers it isn’t good.

Gonzalez will be back. That should help. Chacin hopefully will return to his previous standard.

Chase gave us way more than we ever expected. He will be gone next year.

We arrived a year or two early. Once Braun is off the books (excluding the deferred) we can target some guys.

I’d love if we could get Greinke back. That would really solidly the rotation.

Frick Ryan Braun.

The Brewers are struggling though at the moment. They’ll be in it until the end I’m sure

As I said a few weeks earlier in this thread, the Reds will end the year over .500.....Book it.

Their pitching has improved dramatically and they had a slow start at the plate with hitters producing below mean who you know will come around, and Ginnett about to come back.

Who gets left out when Wood arrives, Mahle?

Not sure I'm not a Reds fan, just recognizing they have something good going. Folks who are having cows about losing to the Reds will come to realize it's not as embarrassing as it looks now - this team is on the rise.

It’s either Mahle or Disco, but I’d guess it’ll be Mahle.

I could also see them trading Tanner Roark and having Wood take his place. Or they could put Wood in the bullpen since Zach Duke and Wandy Peralta have been bad.

I said it month+ ago

This division is lacking on starting pitching, it's not good.

Any team who gets a Quality SP(top end) to round out starting staff will walk away with the division.

Reds are getting starting pitching and hitting, and it's getting them involved in this, quietly, while everyone talks about other 3.

Some one bites the bullet($$$) and brings in a scherzer, they will win the division.

I’m not sure Wood gets back. I’d guess Mahle, but we’re probably a month down the road from worrying about it.

If we can get get shaw and Aggy to hit 250 and each banng 10-15 hr in the 2nd half we mite overcome our pitching issues.

Not even remotely comparable

While both were roiders, Braun ruined a guys career, turned him into a pariah, and slandered him, because he was caught.

Braun is a piece of shite, who will get a huge slice of Karma pie later in life.
