How badly were the Clips half-assing Jordan's Free Agency if they've been able to round up the troops this quickly now?
His reasons for re-joining the Clippers would be sound. His reasons for wanting to strike out on his own with the Mavericks are also pretty sound if he believes in his own talent.
Those two things are in almost complete opposition to one another, and that has been the case since the day the Clippers were eliminated from the Playoffs. How on Earth does it get to this point?
The two choices have such drastically different pros and cons.

Purely speculating on some of the tweets we've seen, but it almost sounds like he maybe wanted to stick around LAC, despite some issues there, but he allowed his agent to do work on him and talk him out of it and to go to DAL. Then he had some time to think it over, and realized that was not what he wanted, and here we are now. Again, just floating an idea.

it certainly seems to be the story being floated, and it may well be true, but all of that should have happened before we even got to July 1 IMO.
I'll be disappointed if he doesn't come to the Mavericks as a fan, but there are plenty of good basketball reasons to stay with the Clippers. It is just a shame that it has been handled in this way.
It certainly puts the last nail in the coffin of whatever was left in Dirk's career, and that is a huge bummer.

Hearing it from L.A. radio hosts, it seems like the organization was taking it for granted that he'd come back. The whole time everyone was saying it DAJ re-signing was a done deal.
