The entire point is that UCF had to take the ball in 2OT, score, then run a 2pt conversion anyway. They got bailed out by that penalty but they were going to settle for a field goal. BYU would then go second knowing exactly what was needed to win. You go for 2 in the first OT and win it without the other team ever touching the ball again.

I don't understand what y'all are talking about. He didn't go for 2 when it was an option. Unless you are talking about something earlier in the game.
