I don't understand the Morikawa hate. The dude has a chance at winning his 2nd major and he's young.

What does his age and winning have to do with “hate”? No one is saying he’s not a good player. His ball striking is elite.

What a lousy open. Golf course played as easy as possible…zero drama down the stretch…not what makes the open fun. Nothing against Collin, he played great, but it was a terrible venue.

I don't either. Dude is only 24 and already had 2 majors under his belt. He's gonna be one of the elite for a long time.

And Speith is gonna win a major or two next year. Good to see him back.

The venue was great but the problem was that the weather didn’t play a factor like it usually does at The Open…..

I could not disagree with you more. Thought it was a fantastic venue and a fantastic tournament. Obviously there wasn’t an amazing finish, but the tournament as a whole was super exciting.

I would have preferred more wind and weather, but the tournament had excitement

I would have loved more wind especially, but can’t control that. So what could be controlled I thought was great.

Does anyone understand why Schmid is an amateur if he no longer plays college golf?

Morikawa seems like he’s going to contend when he putts like this week. When his putting reverts to his average (like the stat they showed) he won’t be in the running. He seems like he almost never mishit his irons and his swing looks so repeatable.

Anybody know how many putts Morikawa had? He seemed to make everything. I’ve never seen a guy get every break imaginable and drain every putt like that when it mattered. Seemed like he went on a 7 hole stretch of one putts.

This is such a classy speech overall, that if this was even 1% intentional, it would make it even better.
