re: 1,000+ playoff shots tracked: How often SGA, Brunson, Harden, Spida, & Wemby fell.

I consider myself an expert on falling.
I don’t believe that any significant % of these plays are purely designed to keep him healthy.
Further, this isn’t on him or you fans to worry about, but they need to start calling offensive fouls when legs and feet flying all over the place.

This is clearly a lie.
Why do y’all say it?

Spurs have shot more free throws than OKC so far in this series.
Wemby and SGA have taken the same number of free throws in this series.
Spurs are #6 in free throws in the playoffs. OKC is #14 in free throws in the playoffs.
So the discourse has moved to SGA falling

I somehow respect SGAs game even less than prime Beard. It is beyond infuriating watching as a neutral fan.

You’re right. Honestly, everyone in the league should do this on every shot. That way, you can be late down the floor and potentially give up a 5 on 4 advantage to the opponent. But it’s worth it, because it’s pretty much mid-game load management. The league has been around over 70 years and it took SGA to be the first guy to think about a way to minimize his own injury risk.
I’m thoroughly entertained and more convinced than ever that he embodies greatness.

Have you seen the way people defend Wemby? Did you watch Hartenstein hold his arm while Wemby still completed the alley-oop? Maybe…just maybe…OKC is fouled less in the act of shooting than SA?

Wrong again:
quote:
"It was something I learned during my rehab when I was going through the foot injury, when I was trying to find ways to limit the impact on my body in 2014," Embiid told ESPN.
“I was told that every time I feel like I'm in a situation where it's going to be some type of extreme [weight] on my leg, I've got to dive or just roll onto the floor. So that's why I do it."

Why do you care if he falls?
I’m just honestly trying to gauge why people want to go full Karen if he falls on a jump shot?
Thunder are 14th in the league with fouls drawn and SGA only got 6 so it’s not getting called. It doesn’t even look like he’s trying to get fouled on half of them. He just.. falls.
The OKC hate objectively seems so forced.. It’s like the entirety of Reddit incels are foaming at the mouth at SGA requesting he gets a technical for…
Falling (not even a quarter of the time on his jump shots)

Because he.. falls? It’s time to take the tampon out and dig deep down why an NBA basketball player has this much of an emotional hold on your mental wellbeing

Isaiah Joe may not play enough minutes to make this list but his flop was the most egregious. The NBA has to start suspending guys for obvious flops like that where theres no doubt at all that it was a blatant flop and attempt to draw a call. Its harder to enforce when jumping into a defender taking a show and trying to draw contact but they should also attempt to do that when a guy acts like he was just murdered and a replay shows there wasnt even any contact.

Biomechanics are a big part of why guys like Jokic, Embiid, Siakam and Wemby fall so much. No one SGA’s size needs to be doing that so often, not to mention the flailing as he falls.

Why do you think fans or the NBA need to dictate how he controls his body in the air?
Anyone is allowed to fall down. Why does falling need to be barred from the league when there’s a clear disadvantage for SGA/OKC with him on the ground not being in position for rebounding and getting back on defense?
I’m just trying to make sense of the Karen’s

The Spurs are trying to injure him by getting under his feet when he shoots. He's been falling away so he doesn't step on their feet. It's easy to spot if you look for it. His basketball IQ is on another level.

I dont, im just telling you your guy and your team are an unaesthetic as frick miserable watch and will be yesterday’s news as the Spurs keep growing. Congrats on the ring via Hali’s achilles.

Even better. The strategy was invented by a guy whose legacy will be a giant “what if” because he constantly avoids time on the court.
If these guys are so damn worried about getting hurt, maybe it’s time to find a safer job. Paying customers want to see greatness, not guys falling on the floor and creating a defensive disadvantage because it’s easier on the legs.

National media is laughing at these tactics, but you guys are gonna die on this hill in the name of player safety.

The full force defense of "why would he fall?!"
Let's not be stupid - it's so he cd an sell contact to draw fouls. Steph curry was a master of falling because he had known ankle issues and those injuries you're referring to
