I'm pretty long for my size and will top out around 300 a round once or twice. But when I'm looking at my landing area, I'm worried about 275 out with my Driver.

It's really not that hard to imagine 300. I mean I hit it 275 on average, but if I really slot one or if it's downwind, it will easily get over 300.
Take Monday. I use a Sky Caddie and on #1 par 5 it was 509 from the tee box. I hit driver and had 191 to the center of te green when I got there.
The common mistake by amateurs when talking about distance is they reference their perfect shots, not averages.

Do you know how they take driving averages? Just because Tiger averaged 297 doesn't mean that is all he can hit it. Tiger could hit every drive 340 if he wanted to.

He was an early leader at -2. Dropped to even then got back to -1 or -2 at the end of the first round.
